I look at it this way, I can handle a mistake but deception, I cannot handle. In the case of GHWB I don't even feel that that was outright deception, I feel it was going overboard with campaign rhetoric. I believe he wished he could take the words back as soon as he said them. No politician really likes to box themselves completely in. But W. was very firm on how CFR would hurt the Republican party and he repeated that over and over and even in the debates.!! I will have a great deal of trouble with that one. Lynn

Why don't we wait till the bill reaches his desk and he goes one way or the other before we make him walk the plank??

He has been letting on that he would probably sign it, but we have seen him let the Demonrats scream bloody murder until they work themselves into a rabid foam-at-the-mouth frenzy in the past, right before he zaps them, and it wouldn't surprise me if he waits until the last minute to play his hand again this time.

Whoa there, Lynn.....politicans will lie to their own mother if it means winning! Dear, you really do give politicians way too much credit.....it isn't as though GHWB wasn't a seasoned veteran--for crying out loud for a New Englander to not know how the Democraps are! LOL.

I daresay if you go back and actually read very carefully what the President said/wrote/was ascribed to him, you may actually come away with a different view of what he actually said about CFR. I haven't bothered because I figured we'd get screwed again regardless of what the Republican said....of course, the screwing we'd have had under a Democrap could have been worse....I say 'could' because the GOP controlled House and Senate were bound and determined to outspend the Perverted President! I don't know if they would have been that generous in dealing with AlBore.

Lynn .. Bush never said he was against reform .. but he did say he didn't like what McCain and the Dems were pushing because it would hurt the Republican Party

As for now .. he's not say he will sign or veto this Bill .. what he said was he will decide when the bill comes to him

To me that means he's not boxing himself in because who know what they will put in that Bill and an example is the stunt they pull the night before the House voted on it ..
