Sanchez could win. Perry is weak among Republican grassroots because he signed an atrocious "hate crimes" bill last year.
Sanchez wins and suddenly Texas becomes a state where a Democrat spends a little time in '04...
To: Illbay
any comments on this? can the GOP keep Gramnh's senate seat?
To: StopDemocratsDotCom
my bad, this is for governor
To: Zack Nguyen
oh come on!, so you are voting for Tony huh?
To: StopDemocratsDotCom
Heck no! I am simply saying that Perry is weak among grassroots conservatives. That is a fact. Perry will need massive turnout, and I mean massive, among Republican enclaves to offset the huge Hsipanic surge in the south end of the state.
To: Zack Nguyen; StopDemocratsDotCom
I agree Perry is weak. I don't do all that much activism but I sent him a fax IMPLORING him not to sign that stupid bill, but he did it anyway.
His office did send me a nice little reply some weeks later, explaining that he signed the bill so that Texas could "move on."
I have not much admiration for the guy, but I'll probably vote for him anyway as a stopgap to keep the Dems out.

The GOP's myopia on immigration come home to roost. Will some W-fan please draw us a map where the GOP can win the presidency with NY, CA, FL, and TX all colored blue?
Its almost over. "President Hillary Clinton", "Chief Justice Bader-Ginsberg" - Get used to those phrases.

I've been saying this for years! If George W. Bush doesn't take his head out of his ass, we'll lose our country! We've lost California, New Mexico, and Florida; we're on the brink of losing Colorado and Arizona - all because of immigration. Yet what do the Republicans do? They vote to give 3 million illegals citizenship! My God, has the world turned upside down or something? The Republicans are pouring jet fuel on a forest fire!
To: Holden Magroin
Oh, and don't forget Cinco de Mayo as a national holiday. They're already on their way to doing that in California.
To: RodgerD
You are seriously delusional. They have meds for that now.

FWIW, jet fuel doesn't burn very well at standard atmospheric temperature and pressure.
Or maybe you meant that.

I think you forget that demographics are on Sanchez's side ---he will crush Perry in a Spanish debate just like he did Morales who learned it only recently. They're registering new voters like mad down here in the border counties.

How nice. After today's house vote, I won't be shocked if he renames the state Mexas.

Good job addressing the issue at hand. Let me guess...debate team captain?
When you are ready to explain how massive immigration, of the sort that has given the Dems a permanent lock on California, will do anything but harm to the GOP's nationwide chances - let us know.

And thanks to G.W the Rats are gonna register even more... his parting gift to Rick Perry.

Tesoro in 1983-84 had been used to launder $25 million in Mexican drug moneyLooks like Sanchez has the funding behind him to win this election. He claimed he didn't know where the money came from ---and his supporters don't care.

I haven't forgotten anything. I don't hand-wring. The state of Texas is extremely conservative with a few Democratic counties on the border. The rest of the state will do just fine. It might be close, but we will win.

And thanks to G.W the Rats are gonna register even more... his parting gift to Rick Perry. Tell ya what, you worry about peoples republic of California and let Texans worry about Texas. One thing we don't need is a lesson from California in how to elect conservatives.
