My initial reaction is to vote for a third party candidate and hope if he gets enough votes, and it causes the Republicans to lose the presidency it will send them a message.

We have the Democrats that are 100% wrong.

We SHOULD have Republicans that are 100% RIGHT!

That way we can at least STAY EVEN at 50%. But when it is a Republican President, we should be GAINING on issues, at 70-80%.

But thats NOT whats happening! We have a 100% WRONG Democratic party, and a 50% WRONG (if not more) Republican Party, which averages out to 75% WRONG, going downhill. Maybe we are not going downhill FAST, but downhill all the same.

I have my hopes Bush does good on the CFR bill. THAT'S THE BIG TEST!

Bush has, without a doubt in my mind, sold us out for the Hispanic vote. He sold us out because he can take our vote for granted (who will we vote for Al Gore?). Is he wrong? What do we do when the Republicans stop looking out for our interests? Is it time for a new party, or do we work within the party and try to root out the Republicans In Name Only (of which there are many)?

Read your last sentence again. Because the tactic sure seemed to work in California recently much to everyone's surprise.

Remember always....Bush is not the ONLY Republican in town. He may think he is right now but hey, he got a clue with Simon. No reason it can't happen again.

I think the thing to do is start looking around at other pubbies. I know it's an outrageous thing to do; a President with 80+ approval ratings and looking for *another* candidate. But hey, if the 80+ is majorly coming from the OTHER side, then are you being served?

As if *we* have no power, give me a break.

The generic *we* can certainly find another Bill Simon. Who beat Riordan coming from 18 points behind. THIS from the very liberal California state. There's other pubbies beyond Bush. But first you gotta get beyond the shock factor. You gotta think outside the box by thinking *inside* the box. As in.....find another guy! This is how it's done. And if the pressure could be brought to bear, it'd be a major statement about the power of the "little guy"; us minions who carry this country on our back and are for once, darn it, NOT going to be sold down the river. It was bad enough letting Clinton sell us down the river but our own party/idealogy?

So who's the "other guy"?

President Bush didn't pass anything, it is his responsibility to sign or not sign the bill that was passed by our esteemed legislature and I don't believe President Bush has done either yet.

You have the right attitude however. If a candidate you voted for does not follow your dictates to the letter, vote for a flaming idealogue who would put drug legalization ahead of national security on his/her platform. /sarccasm off/ And for good measure, you'd have a hand in electing a real socialist like Gore or Hillary.

I'm not pleased with everything that has occurred during the year-long George Bush tenure, but he's had a heck of a lot on his plate, and has handled himself well.

We would all love to have our own personal President, but remember, not even half of his appointments have been approved or even considered by the partisan democrats, the same partisans who would be destroying our country if they held the presidency.

Why don't you quit your job that way unemployment will go up and Bush will look bad. (wink, wink, just kidding.)

Take some positive action. Write to the White House, the Senate, State and National Republican Committees. Also write letters to those members of congress who opposed Bush. My Rep a "moderate" voted against Bush. I am going to send him an e-mail thanking him. Give Money to Conservative Groups rather than the Party.

On a personal level, I'm very upset too. Bush has been acting shamefully lately. Steel Tariffs, Amnesty, perhaps signing CFR when he promised to veto it. Rush said that if it wasn't for the war, he'd wash his hands of the Bush administration. But I try to keep everything in perspective. Bush is doing and will do a lot of good before this term is up. And our country is better off with him in the White House, than the alternative.

Ssshhhhhh - I keep trying to tell you guys, this stuff is all done to fool the Democrats. Yeah, I know, there's a whole LOT of fooling going on, but Bush wants to fool 'em so bad they'll never know what hit 'em.

Let's Roll.

"...While all of us were prasing him for how he was dealing with the war on terror, ..."

Not all of us.

As for what we will do...well... I am going to have a good meal tonight, watch a little tv, and go to bed. This is a surprise for many people, but not for those who have been thinking that something was drastically wrong in the US. This is nothing new to many of us.

IMHO things are going to get much worse before they get any better.

Maybe the thing to do is throw our government to the wolves, and elect Daschle president. Let the democrats make a real mess of things so all the voters see what is happening to our country. They won't like it.

I say this because we conservatives are not getting anyplace voting for the likes of Bush or other RINO. I'm just so disgusted with the whole damn bunch, it's hard to come up any concrete constructive ideas.

If you want to something, focus on congress and on supporting any Republican challengers to Bush in 2004. Don't stay home on election day, and don't vote for a third party candidate, unless a really strong one turns up in 2004.

Like you I am cast adrift and don't know what to do next. I know I can't vote for Bush again, it would offend my integrity too deeply.

Everyone talks about 245i only as it relates to illegals from the south, it goes far deeper and much more dangerous than that, though that is dangerous enough. Here you have congress pass a bill the Visa Violators Legislation, to catch terrorists, then Bush demands, demands, that 245i be attached to it that, in effect, pulls the teeth of the Visa Violators Legislation.

If the man is this desperate, to sell out not only his party, but the safety of the entire nation, I just don't know what to tell ya to do. If you vote third party you throw away your vote, it's thrown away anyway, through vote fraud that neither party intends to really address in any meaningful manner, and by people like Bush that refuses to really represent us. I suppose I had rather throw it away while it is still mine and means something, while it can still send a message, than wait until it is overrun anyway by invading hordes of democrats. You may have hit on the only viable choice left I guess. Ain't that a shame..

Why not vote for a third party. Let's see I would be voting for a loser so that another loser (the dems) could take over. Certainly makes sense to me. I heard Hannity address that on his radio show today to someone who called to say there's no difference in the two partys. He listed the war, tax cuts, social security changes under consideration and other items.

Yep I sure see how voting for someone who can't win so that Dashole and company could take over makes complete sense.
