My initial reaction is to vote for a third party candidate and hope if he gets enough votes, and it causes the Republicans to lose the presidency it will send them a message.

The only message that was received the last time a third party candidate ran-was the election of a corrupt democrat. No matter what, liberal democrats seem to stand by their man/woman no matter what the promises or conduct is.

I can't believe that Republicans whether conservative or moderate are so quick to give up. We stand for principles, but we can't hold on. I must read 245I, I don't believe the hype that there is a blanket amnesty for all illegals.

Better yet, why don't you hold your breath until you turn purple, and then move to France?

Get off our duffs and clean the RINOs out of our party and work on getting conservative Republicans elected.

I just heard Dick Armey say on FoxNews something to the effect of "This bill would not allow those who came into the county illegally to remain. It is a plan to allow more time to re-apply to those who came here legally, but have run into roadblocks due to the ineffieciency of the INS."

The bottom line is that they came here legally, and ther applications for remaining have not been processed. There is no text that makes room for anyone who came here illegally to remain.

Take a look at the whole picture. America is great, and I'd love to see good people who want to work have the opportunity to be successful here in America.

My initial reaction whenever I see a post like this is to ignore the post and the poster. However, I'll make an exception this time.

Who are you Michael Moore? Good grief you don't really expect to agree 100% with GW now do you? I'm a Californian but this doesn't make me want to run out and vote for a THIRD party!

We finally have a president who has integrity and character and is up front about what he is doing and because of a thing or two you don't like you want to get rid of him? Get a life. Life is too short to be so angry.

I'm thankful for such a wonderful president even if I don't agree with him all the time.

Question?

Reagan gave amnesty to over 1 million "illegal" Mexicans
Reagan doubled the size of the federal Gov't in his 8 years.
Reagan snubber the military and didn't give any pay raise one year.
Reagan expanded welfare when he peomised to cut it
Reagan said we spend $4000 on welfare admin for each person but he increased this to $7000

Do you people still consider Reagan a good conservative? I bet you do !

Vote for Hillary-Dashle
The sooner we get to the elitist controlled socialist one world utopia, the sooner it will prove unworkable.

When the check does not come, the electricity does not reach the bulb, the water does not flow thru the tap,the food does not reach the market, when only fools accept fiat money, that is the day freedom will have its chance.

Government will be seen as the evil beast that it is,hopefully this monster will be caged stripped of its power and, forever more, clipped and pruned to insure it does not flourish.

The sooner it gets to the streets, for me,the better.

The solution is to vote for who best represents your beliefs, and let the chips fall where they may.

Once again, again, and still again conservatives are faced with the situation in which they have been stabbed in the back and pissed on by the very people they have fought very hard to elect, defend, and raise funds and support for. Furthermore, these same law abiding, taxpaying, God fearing solid citizens have been used like a wad of toilet paper and flushed down the crapper by political whores and cowards posing as leaders and the "alternative" to the corrupt and degenerate law breaking liberals and left-wingers. Devoted and sincere conservatives have been disgraced and made chumps of, yet are once again being told by Republican leaders that they have no alternative but to just "eat it" because they are the only real hope for the maintenance of conservative "principles", and to shut up.

In reality, Bush is OUR Clinton because, for political power and continued office, he has delivered us into the hands of our worst enemies, drastically set back the future course of true conservative principles, and basically turned the Republican Party into the Democratic Party. Whereas I was an ardent Bush supporter who fought savagely with liberals and utterly despised left-wing Democrat socialists and commies, my candidate has just chopped my legs off and left me dying on the battlefield to walk away with enemies he has now joined as friends. There is no point in playing this damned stupid game anymore, and Republicans have just lost a supporter and fighter forever. I've had enough of this crap. I've had it. To hell with them and to hell with their BS. After untold numbers of betrayals and retreats, lies and backstabbings, and sell outs and surrenders, I'm f-ing done. Since the Republican Party as a whole clearly doesn't give a damn about the law, the Constitution, or my vote, they can do without me. They better sure as hell have gambled right about having illegal aliens vote for them because they sure as hell have lost mine.

This bill is NOT a blanket amnesty for all illegals as most posters here seem to assume. Go back to post #131 by deport, and read the bill. I didn't understand all that I read, but the current 'amnesty' appears to be simply an extension of the deadlines for alien's who's visas have expired, to register with the INS. They have to file a declaration with the INS from an appropriate sponser such as a relative or employer, and pay a $1,000 penalty. This puts their name on record while they wait for a hearing with the INS to have their citizenship status reviewed. It is not a guarantee of citizenship, and has no effect whatsoever on the thousands who slipped over the border without paperwork.

Having read a majority of the postings here, I am dismayed that so many FReepers are ready to jump ship over an issue they didn't bother to get the facts on before plunging into a rant.

Alone this statement it shows me that you have a "ZERO" understanding of the political process going on in Washington. Further more by trowing temper tantrums like this, it shows how infantile and narrow minded your thinking is.
Based on your statements it will be futile to even try to reason with you.

....and it causes the Republicans to lose the presidency it will send them a message.

Well, yeah, but it won't impress guys like Jack Welch and the rest of the owners of The Machine. Like David Horowitz keeps telling us, they've always got their go-to boys in the Other Same Party.

Need to form a grass-roots Conservative party.....and go talk to the Buchananites and the Greens. Could do the NWO a lot of damage, putting all the contrary opinion together, whaddayathink?

The linkable idea, the common value that would allow Conservatives to work with Buchananites and Greenies is that, we pretty much agree that we didn't found a free country, just to sell it out to Geneva, Brussels, the East River kleptocrat mob, and the big multinationals that fly no flag but live under the Skull and Bones.

What's the point of living in a Jeffersonian democracy, if it's been reorganized as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Fortune 500 and the U.N.? As a no-load mutual fund for billionaires?

What happens when the U.N., the Marxists that run the E.U., and the Chamber/Fortune 500 crowd decide to put it all together?

Does anyone here think that power doesn't attract power -- and corrupt, power-junkie personalities? Anyone think these guys aren't putting it together as we write?

10 years from now will only be the beginning of this problem. Long term, this issue is larger than any other issue facing our "nation". This bill virtually seals this country's fate. We are going to slowly slip in world status. We will also keep sliding down the slippery slope of socialism. An uneducated, unskilled, and poor populace makes this easier to accomplish. Bush will not receive the majority of votes from Hispanics, NOR WILL HE RECEIVE MINE!

This is very tragic.

What I find unbelievable is this legislation past last night along with the visas issued to 2 dead terrorists!

Are you aware that over 35,000 visas were issued to people from countries on our TERRORIST watch list from Sept 11 to Feb 1, 2002????

When are the American people going to wake up, repent and get their heads out of the sand?
