Can you translate this weird email???
Bump in the night | March 15, 2002 | Bump in the night

Posted on 03/15/2002 8:34:29 PM PST by Bump in the night

It all started a while back when I received a request from someone asking permission to be added to my MSN Instant Messenger. I sent him an email asking him if I new him and if not, why he wanted to add me to his instant messenger list. He replied. He said that he had seen my email address and liked the name. He was looking for friends and thought he would try me. He also said he was from Pakistan.

I nicely replied and said that I do not add people to my MSN Messenger that I do not know.

Now, I receive e-mails from him from time to time. The emails seem to all be religious in nature (Islamic). (I don't usually read them but just delete them.)

Now, his friends are sending me emails. I don't mind to much, as they just go into my junk mail file and I delete them. But I received the following one the other day and it is written in some other language. I have gone all over the internet trying to translate it, but to no avail. I just think it's weird getting an email in some other language from someone who normally sends emails in English. Can anyone translate this?

It is titled, "Special Message", and it is from someone by the name of "khurram aslam". I'd appreciate any help.

Madina mein ek shakhs ne khuwab mein dekha ke PROPHET(MPBUH)ne farmaya " meri ummat se kaho ke quran pak ki tilawat karo, namaz parha karo aur mera yeh peghaam har jaga pohncha do" jis shakhs ko bhi yeh peghaam miley ussey chahiyeh ke 7 martaba is ko taqseem kare. Theek 10 din baad iske ghar mein khushhaali aayegi. aur agar taqeem na kare to 10 din baad gham aayega".

"The Prophet sent me this e-mail to test a new e-mail tracking program he has developed. Please forward this e-mail to as many people as you know, for each person you forward to, you will receive a gift, for each person that forwards on from there, you will each receive a gift.

Do this immediately or bad luck shall befall you. Abdullah Lars didn't send it immediately and was struck down a short time later by a cluster bomb that killed him, and wounded nine sheep."

As I do with most spam, send them a reasonably worded, courteous, polite response, insisting that they send you no more email. If you subsequently receive a second email from the same address, respond to that with the most bitter, foul, paranoid response you can come up with at the time (if you need help with the verbiage, FReemail me.) Under most statutes this will demonstrate a pattern of harassment on the part of the spammer, who, "insists," on contacting you despite your polite protestations, and whose, "repeated," contacts have caused you fear or intimidation. Under most state stalking or harassment laws, that is enough to prosecute, or at least, prompt a criminal investigation. This response will generally stop spamming businesses dead in their tracks as any further contact results in tremendous liability on their part...anyone who insists on repeated attempts at contact with you after the above two responses, will generally provide probable cause for investigation in most jurisdictions with mature stalking/ harassment laws.

My guess is that he is quoting the quran. mpbuh is another name for mohamed, I beleive. I know I have seen that name before. You will not be able to find a translator because arabic is not in the latin alphabet. He made up the spellings for these words himself. They are approximations. You will have to find someone that speaks arabic and see if they can decipher his phonetic spellings of arabic words.

Of course, we don't even know for sure if this is even arabic. It could be some other language. I don't see any way to know for sure what language it is.

If you use Outlook Express or a similar program, you can easily block the sender's address.

that looks almost like HipSpew (it's something that occurs on Usenet but sometimes it infiltrates into an email) HipSpew is basically a bunch of random letters that appear to be words to wreck havoc and be an annoyance and in usenet, to up the post counts on particular groups targetted

MPBUH is shorthand for "May Praise Be Upon Him." It's used when referring to the prophet Mohammed.

PROPHET(MPBUH)

That's the Prophet Mohammed, PBUH is "Peace be Upon Him," it might be MPBUH in another language...

I don't think it's HipSpew. It looks somewhat Dutch or Afrikaans in places, but I think a previous poster was right in thinking that it's phoneticized Arabic or some middle-eastern language.

It says:

May the PROPHET be with you and yours. May you always be safe and may the rains be plentiful. May danger be far from your door.
Trust in him and always follow the laws and you will have peace. Treat others well. A moose bit my sister and he became as unto cheese. The PROPHET says so and woe unto any non-believers.

Did you check for an Urdu translator? I am not sure if the mail is written in Urdu, but if he is from Pakistan, there is a chance that it is.

I have a friend who speaks a little Urdu who might be able to translate it if nothing else works. However, she lives in Hong Kong, and I believe she is on vacation at the moment.

Let me know how you make out.

It's from "Songs Of The Oasis: Birth Of the Blues", copyright 1943, Abdul The Bul Bul Amir & Wives

Rough translation:

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey

A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

Yes! Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey

A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

That's a little further down in the ditty:

If the words sound queer and funny to your ear, a little bit jumbled and jivey

Sing "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy"

Mairzy doats

They don't write them like that anymore, eh?

My Urdu is rusty, but I can still get most of it:

In Madina there is a guy who saw the prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, say, "Tell my people that the Holy Koran says that you must says your prayers [5x daily] and send this message of mine everywhere." This guy who received this message also spread it to 7 people. So after precisely 10 days good will come to this house. Or, if you don't distribute it, then after 10 days grief will come.

===========================

I would say you would be quite safe to disregard that message, but I just wanted to write it out here for interest.

It's Urdu, not Arabic. I couldn't understand many of the words but the gist of the message is that you should "spread the word" (about the prophet's teachings) within 7 days and that you will be rewarded "with happiness in exactly 10 days". If you do not obey, "a great misfortune will befall you at the end of those 10 days".

It's arabic. From the Byzantine era or earlier.

In short, it asks for permission to sleep with you wife.

He will provide fresh dates and kill your children.

There is a reference to a big booger in his nose.

May Allah be praised! : - )

I live in the desert Southwest in New Mexico near the Mexican border. The last ten or twelve cattle mutilations in our county, Dona Ana county, have had notes pinned to the udders with exactly these words hand written in day glow ink on high quality bond paper.

Our Sheriff's Dept has issued a press release saying they believe it is in the Vegan language. Hope this helps.
