We hear that shortly after her September tirade proposing a modern-day crusade in Islamic countries, she began dating a gentleman of the Muslim persuasion, a well-to-do financier in New York. Word is that they met by chance four months ago on a Manhattan street and have been an item ever since.

Coulter, an Episcopalian, declined to comment directly on this surprising circumstance. She refused to reveal the lucky guy's identity.

Coulter's OK, but the point that this story makes for me is the same old media bias. This writer has no problem gossiping about the private life of a conservative but would die before commenting on the identity of the blonde ABC employee who was (is?) dating Condit. Why has that story died?

Ann Coulter is like Curtis Sliva, (the late) Morton Downey, and Bill O'Reilly. Media whores who found a lucrative niche by screaming hostile conservative sound bites. I don't think they really many anything they say. They just cash in.

By contrast, Rush is legit, sincere, thoughtful. Bob Grant, too, is sincere.

Many "conservative" media whores see Rush's success, and try to "cash in" on being a "conservative icon.

I happen to be in a town with over 50k college students, or roughly 50% of the population in our town. I see "hot" women all of the time, and I know hot women. Ann Coulter is not hot.

LOL, I can just picture so many of the 'screaming rant'-subset Freepers collapsed in a dazed shock, simply staring at the screen over this. Betrayed, they somehow haven't yet figured out how to work this into an "I'm never gonna vote for X again" tirade.

Okay, stupid question I know, but what makes someone a good or bad thinker? (I'm ignoring her private life, which seems to support your view.)

Anne is tactical, combative. It is true that her rhetoric sometimes jumps the track and goes over a ravine. But she is nimble and usually lands on her feet. She seems deliberately offensive at times, but there is more than a little truth in what she says.

Maybe she's no philosopher, but she's a great partisan.

That's my take, but I don't really have much training in the finer points of argument: logic, rhetoric, etc.

Ann Coulter is an excellent thinker and has the courage to speak the truth about the mistakes of both parties. She is caustic towards stupidity whether it comes from a donkey or an elephant. The comment about converting all Afghans to Christianity was not to be taken literally, and only those looking for an excuse to be offended saw it that way. If she looked like Janet Reno, she probably wouldn't have been able to market herself well enough for any of us to have heard of her, but the lack of celebrity wouldn't change the fact that she is more often right than not. The long blonde hair gives her a great deal of visual impact. I agree that she could use a few well-toned pounds, but she is an attractive lady. However, the point is less that she is "hot" than that she is an excellent political writer. It's a shame that RINO's and other girlie men hate her so much.
