Hello Patrick. Great post!

The Blaster

Congress Doesn't Read Our E-Mail

Vast Criminal Conspiracy

List of Convicted Criminals Serving in Congress

The Washington Times
Source
August 16, 2000

Given reports circulating on the Internet that hundreds of Washington lawmakers have committed crimes, the National Taxpayers Union Foundation set out to learn the truth.

"The truth is less dramatic," says the Washington-based foundation, "but still troubling enough. Although most senators and representatives have steered clear of the law, a number of rotten apples have rolled out of the barrel."

Here then is the list of former members of Congress who were convicted or pleaded guilty to major offenses between 1992 and 1999 (it does not include lawmakers disciplined by Congress' own internal investigations, such as Newt Gingrich or Bob Packwood):

• Nick Mavroules, Massachusetts Democrat: tax evasion, accepting illegal gratuity (1992).

• Albert Bustamante, Texas Democrat: racketeering (1993).

• Carroll Hubbard, Kentucky Democrat: fraud and corruption (1994).

• Carl Perkins, Kentucky Democrat: fraud (1994). • Charlie Rose, North Carolina Democrat: financial-disclosure irregularities (1994).

• Larry Smith, Florida Democrat: tax evasion (1994).

• Dave Durenberger, Minnesota Republican: financial-disclosure misdemeanor (1995).

• Walter Fauntroy, District of Columbia Democrat: financial-disclosure misdemeanor (1995).

• Gerald Kleczka, Wisconsin Democrat: arrested for DWI (1995 and 1990); convicted DWI (1987).

• Mel Reynolds, Illinois Democrat: sexual misconduct (1995).

• Walter Tucker, California Democrat: extortion (1995).

• Charles Wilson, Texas Democrat: paid $90,000 fine to Federal Election Commission (1995).

• Joe Kolter, Pennsylvania Democrat: fraud and conspiracy (1996).

• Dan Rostenkowski, Illinois Democrat: mail fraud (1996).

• Wes Cooley, Oregon Republican: lying about war record (1997).

• Jay Kim, California Republican: campaign-finance violations (1998).

• Mary Rose Oakar, Ohio Democrat: financial-disclosure irregularities (1998).

• Austin J. Murphy, Pennsylvania Democrat: vote fraud (1999).

Mark Twain once observed that Congress was America's "only native criminal class," the foundation recalls.

Two well known polls about what Americans believe about Congress:

The vast majority of Americans believe Congressmen are crooks and scoundrels and place them below used car salesmen for lack of honesty.

But when asked about their own Congressmen, the majority of Americans believed their Congressman was trutstworthy , a good guy who represented their interests. They almost always thought it was the other Congressmen, not their own Congressmen, who were the bad guys.

No wonder we keep getting crooks and clowns and cowards elected to Congress. Congress is able to fool enough of the people enough of the time to keep getting elected using, international corporate contributers, Saudi and Chinese money.

Think that this has anything to do with the fact that probably 95% of our elected officials are lawyers, one of the most despised professions in the U.S. ?

"Congress only listens to foreign interests, big corporate donars, the Saudis and wealthy Arabs and the Chinese these days."

Another suggested approach: remember Gibson's comment yesterday re:emails "I only read the short ones."

Keep in mind that many congressional staffers, like many journalists, are busy, and some (most?) of them regard the OKC/Waco activists as "nuts."

If you can convey the impression that you saw the Gibson show, or read Schippers' comments last week, and are highly alarmed by comments from highly respected people like Larry Johson and/or David Schippers, and do it concisely, your letters or calls may have more impact.

The most important message, for those of you who are constituents of any of those on the Senate Judiciary List, (see post #9) is to tell the staffers you are calling all your friends, and urging them NOT to vote for Senator X at the next election if they don't vote to further explore the OKC/Middle East connection. This may be particularly alarming to the Democrats on the list.

The same approach can be used in contacting the national media.

In other words, KISS. A la "This is an outrage, the media isn't reporting this, we want to know why, and it's the job of the Senate Judiciary Committee, given 9/11 and all the FBI problems recently, to make appropriate changes."

This is the liberal approach to lobbying, and, in this case, it can't hurt.

Clearly the first priority for the Department of Justice and the FBI should be to restore the perception that they are a professional law enforcement agency that has as their first concern the protection of our nation then the enforcement of its laws. This is not done by covering up any potential misconduct. The attacks of September 11, 2001 should have made this abundantly clear to anyone who has not been following the tales of the Fumbling Bumbling Idiots.

Those agents who engage in criminal acts do more harm to this nation than a million terrorists could ever contemplate. During the years of the Clinton administrationpromotions in the FBI seem to have gone to those who were policically aligned with the Clinton administration. A pervasive atmosphere of the FBI versus everyone else seems to have developed and permeated many if not most of the field offices.

The revalations in this post are very much a cause for the gravest concern but when combined with all the other revalations about FBI abuses including the Bulger/Flemmeni case, the recent Baltimore shooting of an innocent twenty year old, the promotion of agents involved in the Ruby Ridge fiasco (the shooting did occur during George H W Bush's presidency), the Robert Hansen debacle, the Wen Ho Lee farece, the Flight 800 investigation, and many other scandals it goes from being a grave concern to being a clear and present danger to the continued existence of the USA.

Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown

And today we have former CIA counter terrorism official Larry Johnson stating that their was an Iraqi connection to the OKC bombing and that Ali Mohammed was in fact a double agent working for the FBI and Bin Laden and ALQaeda at the same time.

So that's where Larry Klayman is getting his information that Iraq was involved in the OKC bombing.

DOJ AG AShcroft is responsible ultimately for the surveillance tapes. He and FBI Director Mueller know where they are.

Thanks for the ping. This is one of the most concise, easily understood overviews you've written so far.

Congress has whitewashed every bit of negligence/treason/malfeasance in the past decade, holding phoney hearings to try to maintain an appearance of some constitutional form of government. I do not expect anything but stagecraft from the hearing. I do not expect our constitutional republic to survive.
