"You know, like a "Miss America" type statement from the Lead, Admin and Sidebar: LOL...you are such a trouble maker! ;)
I think the "members thing" is very big brotherish
I couldn't find the self search @ first...they moved it on me!
and I find the side show on the top right distracting (and why do we care how many seconds it's been since there had been activity...with such an active forum, it's never 2 hrs (unless FR is down) )
But it's still the best forum around......

Played around with this new format for awhile now and I'm firmly convinced the old format was much better. This doesn't allow you to scan the latest responses to new posts and slows the whole process down. The previous format had a much better flow to it ... it encouraged participation.
Sorry ... this new format comes up way short.

Put me on the "I don't like this new format" list.

Prelude to an Opus??

"I am sure there are more things either new or fixed that I haven't come across yet" Don't worry about it
by the time you find the new or fixed things, John will have changed the format and you can start over again.

clicking on the "articles and comments" link and setting my user preferences solves my problem. tyvm.

also - self search has no way to move to other types of displays. I'm having the same problem....I have to hit news and current events, then go back to comments...

Id like to be able to define what shows up in there.

does the 'Members' button mean now that there is no anonymity for lurkers? It doesn't appear that way.
I logged off, cleared all cookies, closed IE, and checked on another computer. My user name was still there.
Maybe the members list is being compiled as folks log on and is just an overall members master list(?).

OK, since we're all in a bitchey mood..............How about fixing the SEARCH function so we don't "DUPLICATE POST".
Even when one checks a word from the title of an article (Let's say BALDWIN) you oftimes will get another article(s) that has 794 Posts (most of which are about Moose, Hobbits or Cheese) that causes you to have to scan page after page of INDIVIDUAL POSTS unrelated to the article you wish to post.
You eventually give up, Post your article, and then get some Anal-Retentive sending you a message '"Posted Here", and "Here" and "Here"'...........and all it would have taken is another 40 minutes of time paging through Posts from unrelated articles...........to find that JohnHuang2 or Kattracks went to the Washington Times website THE NIGHT BEFORE and posted the whole damn paper anyways, so the article is posted on the THE PREVIOUS DAY..........no wonder you couldn't find the damned thing!..........and no one has replied to this important news because it was posted at 2:30 in the morning EDT...............so no one reads the article, because no one knows it exists, contributing to the ignorance of Freeperdom..............Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

... clicking on the "articles and comments" link and setting my user preferences solves my problem. Seems to work for me as well ... my comment in post #83 was little premature ... but I still feel the old format had a better rythm and flow to it.

Could be an NSA hit list being generated to be sold to the gub'mint black op team.

"Of course that will throw all the old farts into a tizzy because they hate change." I'm an old fart and personally I think the new format stinx.
Guilty as charged.

Well, John Huang pings everybody in sight. Looks like pinging isn't working if the pingees don't do their duty and at least post a bttt to keep the articles in circulation. I'm with you! JH2 is too efficient, I guess.

It's you and the other clandestine shadow moderators that are compiling that list for the
NWOUNNSACIAFBIBuild-A-BurgerSkull'N'BonesKnightsTemplarETCETCETC Society.
I've seen those coded messages you put in those "graphics" you make.
"Born and raised in one of the most Liberal homes in America"
Pffffffft! You're not fooling anyone.

"how do i get on the new format? "You have to make sure you're logged in. Then look for the new cheese forum.

If this forum was written in ASP, this place would rock...but thats just my ASP bias.

I don't know why anyone would want to keep their lurking a secret anyway, do you? ;-). If I ignore someone, I like to do it in private.
If I'm being ignored, I still like to be able to delude myself into thinking that person just isn't around anymore.
