China and NK Intensify Hunt for Defectors
North Korea dispatched 150 agents of its Ministry of Public Security to China right after the 25 North Korean defectors were deported to South Korea via the Philippines it was learned Wednesday. A missionary organization supporting defectors in northwestern regions in China reported the agents and Chinese police are conducting an extensive hunt for the defectors and is transferring those caught back to North Korea.
According to the organization, which was informed of the situation through a missionary worker in China, all people and vehicles crossing the Chinese-North Korean border are strictly controlled and inspected, and trucks filled with arrested defectors cross border bridges in Tumen and Kaishantun regions several times a day.
The report said some defectors pleaded for their lives or threw themselves off the bridge over the Tumen River. It added China had mobilized security police and border guard units, to search Korean churches and business offices to hunt for hiding defectors.
(Oh, sorry. I forgot. They have a lot of new, much taller buildings than they did back in the 1970s and the people don't dress in Mao suits so often anymore.)
Red China looks like the land of milk and honey, compared to North Korean "cannibal communism".
