Smallpox has been eradicated as a disease that can be caught through vaccination. However, smallpox still does exist in a small number of government controlled labs around the world.

Thanks for heads up on this one Neil. I have always argued that the Constitution died with the onset of the "civil" war.

Yeah, I saw the thread. I have a fifty of another brand, and I figure that it's the very next target. I don't know what my actual response is gonna be, but the govt won't like it.

The absolute line has to be drawn somewhere, and I guess that weapons confiscation/registration might as well be it. I really thought that CFR could be the big one, but the bleating of the sheep drowned out the Patriots. (sigh)

I didn't see the word stadium in the post. What I was commenting on was the comment: For example, the Model State Emergency Health Powers Act would give state governors the power to order people from their homes and force them into quarantines, separate parents from children, impose price controls and rationing, and confiscate guns and other property. Supposedly, this is to protect us from germ warfare, but herding people into confined spaces is the best way to spread disease.

In smallpox, towns would be quarantined, and those who were in contact with the disease would indeed be taken from their homes, since smallpox in the early incubation period is not infectious. Such contacts would be kept in hotels or barracks for a period of time until it was clear that they were free of the disease, at which point they would be allowed to return home. The term "quaranine" comes from forty days: I.e. a ship arriving from an area of disease had to sit in the dock for 40 days before the passengers were allowed to leave. Alas, there are reports that everyone on such ships might die during the 40 days, from close contact of passengers with the diseased patient, but the seaport cities would be kept free of disease.

A good scenerio for a biological outbreak can be found in various bioterrorism sites at the CDC American college of physicians, or the AMA website.link Or just rent Stephen King's "the Stand".

The truth is rising like a beacon after years of being kept hidden.

Indeed! I have even convinced some Yankee friends of our point of view.
One is from Illinois, so one can just imagine the tenacity of the Lincoln cult there.

I can't wait to buy this book.
