WASHINGTON - Gun-control advocate Sarah Brady bought her son a powerful rifle for Christmas in 2000 - and may have skirted Delaware state background-check requirements, the New York Daily News has learned....
(Read the rest here)
Eagle Eye, in other circumstances (if this were Joe Blow on the street), this evil bitch and her ilk would be screaming for prosecution. In fact, given that the crime was committed in 2000, the BATFags would probably have already broken down his door and hauled him off to the hosegow (if they didn't shoot him first), and there would not have been word one in the papers about it. And to those who say "no Federal law was broken", I would remind everyone that it is only a "legal transaction" under Federal law as long as it is also in compliance with State and local laws. There is a Federal violation here because the transaction violated State law.
That being said, I have to disagree with you on prosecution in this case BECAUSE this evil bitch is largely responsible for the law in the first place. I too disagree with the law, because it is a CLEAR VIOLATION of Amendment 2 to the Constitution. But if this evil bitch is allowed to skate because of who she is, then IMO it is way past time to use the 2nd for its intended purpose.
IMO, if a law is unconstitutional, then prosecuting anyone, even if we
hate really, really, really disapprove of her, is wrong.
Additional presecutions of an unjust law are not right, even if temporarily satisfying.
Thanks for the ping.....if this is true, the irony is delicious!
Hypocritcal, liberal scum indeed! When will these HCI people see themselves as the brainless, bedwetting dumb butts that they are?
Mr. Brady and his wife, the former Sarah Kemp, reside in Delaware with their son, Scott. Mr. Brady also has a daughter, Melissa.
From their damn website.
She wanted this unconstitutional law and she broke this unconstitutional law....
Ms Potato Head is her own victim and justly so IMHO.
Stay Safe !
Well, maybe if she is prosecuted for the unconstitutional law, she can fight it all the way to the SCOTUS and get it struck down.
People should always clean up their own messes.
And if you read two posts down, you'd know I tipped my hat to Eugene Tackleberry for picking up on the "straw purchase gun runner loophole". You're not raining on my parade, in fact I mentioned that I believed there was an exemption for gift purchases to a non-prohibited family member in one of my posts.
There is, however, some debate about Delaware law and whether she might have been in technical violation of state statutes.
I say we make her an honorary freeper and give her the screenname Strawman purchaser.
HA! That would be delicious. Sara Brady getting prosecuted for violating an unconstitutional law, fights that law to the Supreme Court and ends up getting her husband's namesake law tossed. Too, too ironic.
I like it.
That's my point exactly!
Either we enforce uncontitutional rules on her, and give them legitimacy, or we make her live by the Constitution.
Insisting that the unjust law gets enforced doesn't do anything to change that law.
Remove the laws, don't prosecute more because of them.
I have a feeling that Sarah will pay a price for this in one way or another.
"Join Sarah Brady in a live Internet chat Wednesday, March 27, at 1 p.m. ET. If you have a question for Sarah, please submit it in the space below."
When you are 100% correct,it is not a delusion. While you or I would undoubtely have to spend thousands of dollars on lawyer fees in a vain attempt to keep from serving time and becoming a convicted felon, absolutly nothing will happen to either her or her son. No fine, nothing.
I'd say she understand the system she is championing perfectly.
One thing about it,nobody can ever accuse you of not being optomistic! If you send Ashcroft a e-mail,tell him she was topless while making the straw purchase. THAT might get his interest.
The correct answer to this question is "You can't.".
What makes you think she made it (the Brady Law) up? She is just a "spokesmodel",who parrots the words put before her for a fee.I doubt she had given 5 minutes thought to anything, other that where to cash the check.
Brady writes in "A Good Fight" that the unnamed gun shop ran federal Brady Law and Delaware state background checks with great fanfare.
"(W)hen the owner called in the checks, it seemed to me he spoke unnecessarily loudly, repeating and spelling my name over and over on the phone," Brady writes.
Pretty d*mn funny!

A New York Daily News story incorrectly reported that gun control advocate Sarah Brady may have skirted Delaware's gun laws when she bought a rifle for her adult son but did not declare who was going to own the weapon.
The Delaware Department of Justice initially insisted to the Daily News that gun purchasers must declare who the weapon was intended for so that person's background could be checked.
On Friday, a spokeswoman for the Delaware Department of Justice said it misinterpreted the law and Brady was not obligated to state that the gun was for her son as long as he was legally qualified to own a gun.
In addition, a spokesman for Brady said, "Sarah Brady told the gun store that the gun was for her son and filled out the forms that they asked her to fill out."
