It's hard to believe anybody with clearances at the level necessary to be privy to this type information would disclose it. That to me would make me question how authentic this story is.
But this is the second major leak along this line out of the DOE in the last several months In my opinion just another reason to require polygraphs for DOE and their contractor personnel.

Actually given the number of known (arrested) spies lately and the fact that there's probably a good number of X42's buddies still spread throughout top gummint posts a real leak concerning a new class of nuclear weapon is not out of the question.
Nothing stirs up the left as do nukes ... period.
