Hasn't the Middle East suffered enough??
I give him 3 hours, tops, with the leaders. He'll have the whole Jewish delegation banging their heads against the Wailing Wall.

If he leaves don't let him back. Let those guys deal with him.

They can't control private citizens' travel but they can certainly "suggest" to the parties that any involvement in mediation efforts aside from that being offered by the Bush administration right now would not be appreciated, State Department sources said. Wadda wuss! There IS a federal law against private citizens trying to negoiate diplomatic issues with foreign governments. This wuss works for the US State Dept,so he probably has this law tatooed backward in his chest so he can read it in a mirror. He's just afraid of standing up to JJ.
On a side note,JJ must really be getting desperate for attention to even suggest this. He knows they won't let him go on his own,but is hoping they will give him official diplomatic protection so he can go and get a lot of positive press. Without the diplomatic cover,he'd be killed and he knows it.

We just can't get RID of these people!!!

Jesse Jackson always got double attention from me. After I listened to him talk for 5 minutes, it always took me an extra 5 minutes to translate his gasping, garbled ebonics into English. What language would he speak during these negotiations? An Arabic dialect? A Hebrew dialect? Or his normal sub-sub-English/ebonics dialect?

Oh please, oh please, oh please, say YES, Mr. Bush. Let the Rev go to the Middle East.
Maybe we'll all get lucky and Arafat will sell him to somebody and we'll finally be rid of that hemorroid.

Since Jesse's followers are America's version of the oppressed Palestinians, it's no wonder he wants to join the peace chorus. They worship the same destroyer. This story really belongs in The Onion.

Priceless!
I just received the following by email:
Admirable! Jessie Jackson has added former Chicago democratic congressman Mel Reynolds to the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition's payroll. Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton's last-minute forgiveness spree.
Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud & lies to the Federal Election Commission. He is more notorious, however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer.
This is a first in American politics: An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate, won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate, then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate.
His new job?
Youth counselor!
Is this a great country or what?
I'd pay to see a tape of that job interview if only to see if Jesse gave this joker the same four words of advice he should have given Clinton (and followed himself):
"Stay out da bushes!"

Thanks for the morning LOL. Jesse should mediate pro wrestling matches.

Was led here from a link by a moderator's "Duplicate Thread Lock".
Just wondering, is a "thread lock" something like a "dread lock" for those of us with thinning hair?

"They can't control private citizens' travel but they can certainly 'suggest' to the parties that any involvement in mediation efforts aside from that being offered by the Bush administration right now would not be appreciated, State Department sources said." "Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."
The above from 18 USC 953. It prohibits private citizens from conducting their own foreign policy and negotiations, and Mr. Jackson is already an (unindicted) multiple felon under this law.
