Essay Of The Week

Free Republic Highlights is proud to announce a new feature. Southack Says... a little bit about a lot of things You won't want to miss this great webpage, and be sure to tell him what you think as I'm sure you will enjoy his webpage as much as I do. Click the icon to visit his page.

Another special feature of Free Republic Highlights is My Two Cents. These are a growing collection of analytical articles and essays written by John Huang2 with a real punch on the latest event to hit the news. He is one of the best and my favorite prognosticator and pundit on Free Republic. He hits a bulls-eye every time he takes on the liberal media, the Democrats in Congress, and world leaders. These articles and essays come out almost daily, so put his column on your 'must do' list. You won't be sorry if you like to keep up with current events. If it's happened and it has been reported in the news, he's written about it.

I do appreciate that he was sensitive and did not have a signing ceremony. It would have been like pouring salt in the wound. On the other hand, I don't blame him for not wanting to bear the full brunt of something that should never have reached his desk in the first place. I think that had he vetoed it, and then was overwritten, it would have been a disaster to his leadership and given the hand he was dealt, he played it as well as could be expected. Besides, I'm delighted that McCain is mad and Bush more or less told him to "stick his finger up his butt and get glad."

That's the greatest acceptance speech I have ever seen! You're destined to greatness and an Ohioan as well. You can't lose.

Thanks for your kind words. I am always looking for a well reasoned and written essay, rather than the point of view. I don't dismiss the point of view because often both sides make valid points, but I try to be fair and I appreciate your having noticed.

You think it will change the minds of the Myopic Crows? Hardly. But when this plays out, we shall have fun, shall we not? ;-)

When Bush's plan works, we will get some of them back. Not all, but some of them. The rest will run off and be losers.

Wow, thanks! I didn't intend to write an essay LOL! I started off responding to a comment and got carried away.

So if PJ-Comix can't fulfill his duties as winner this week for any reason do I get the crown? :)

Howlin, thanks for being so observant and always giving me great comments to respond to.

Smack in the middle between Cincinnati and Dayton, as the crow flys. I was born and reared in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati.

That's right, but no fair having someone hit him on the legs like Tanya Harding. (But you can pull on his whiskers and he will follow you anywhere.) If that helps.

I'll have to remember that for future reference. You never know when it would come in handy to have someone follow you around for a while. Though, my mom always told me, (and my sister during one of our famous sister battles), that pulling hair was for sissies! I'll try to be gentle ;^)
