the answer is yes, and no. The loading time is a little bit faster , but not anywhere near where it was before everything was changed. The top part of the screen, is STILL cut off, so that all of the words are unreadable , I was " GIVEN " subscriptions, to forums, without my subscribing to them, and I can't seem to get out of one ( there is NO message, when I go to topics, nor that unwanted Forum ... NONE , which either tells me that I am subscribed, nor an " unsubscribe " place to click onto ! ) and I don't want it and the messages on the side bar .
How is it all for you ?
...And speaking of antifreepers: Did my private emails to a former FR member ever get posted, as they were promising/threatening to do?
I will venture forth and take a look, but before the Easter Bunny deviled my eggs they hadn't.
1. Click on your screen name at top right.
2. Click on My Preferences.
3. Is the topic bar on or off? If on, click off to get rid of the right side bar.
4. With the topic bar on, click on Topics (below your name) and subscribe to whatever topics you want.
5. To unsubcribe, click the topic in the Topic bar and then click unsubcribe at the top of the posts for that topic.

I read all of your hysterical commentary, and I also agree with OhReally, as he noted that for someone who bitched nonstop about not being able to access Free Republic, your posts indicated that you could.
In fact, a quick review of your comments shows that you were posting on more than one thread within minutes of each other, several times. But you said you couldn't. You remarked that your system was sloooooooooooow, and yet, it wasn't so slow that you didn't keep returning. You bitched about getting a migraine and how awful the colors were, yet said you couldn't see most of the pages, and you guttersniped at participants and the owner of Free Republic when it was uncalled for.
I have been around Free Republic myself for a while and rarely have I encountered anyone as obnoxious as you were on this thread, nor anyone who contradicted themselves so many times in one place. Your reaction seemed no more than a cry-baby tantrum because you choose to use equipment that a majority of users don't use.
Fortunately for you, it worked. You must be very proud of yourself for standing up for your rights and demanding that you get your money's worth from Free Republlic, or else. It's been a valuable lesson for me in the art of tactical website warfare, so I do thank you for that.
I stayed on that one thread. There was no waving flag, no blue-grey background, with pale blue lettering ( which made it VERY difficult to read ) , so that problem was removed.
Going from thread to thread, too a VERY long load time, loger than from posting to getting back to the thread, so there went another problem ... i.e. my unit shutting off.
I didn't DEMAND a fix; I just complained, on a thread, I might add, whose topic was specifically COMPLAINING ABOUT THE CHANGE ! I stuck to the topic. Ergo, after whatever length your stay as been here, you still don't understand how FR works . Please, permit me to explain it to you. You see, a thread gets posted The article or opinion of the thread is whatever starts that thread off. To be correct, FREEPERS then debate / talk about / discuss the TOPIC of that thread. I AM NOT THE TOPIC ! Your opinion of me, is also NOT the topic. Naughty, naughty you. : - )

Yeah, that's what you kept saying, except you spelled 'took' and 'longer' correctly. As I pointed out, a review of your reply history indicates that you were posting on different threads (that means not the same thread) within minutes of each other several times. So your claims that you weren't able to access more than one thread, much less post on more than one thread, don't appear to be accurate.
I realize you've been around a lot longer than I have been. I guess that makes you (another) unofficial spokeswoman for Free Republic policy.
Since you've confirmed this, and indicated that you know what Free Republic is all about, can you explain what you meant by "begathon"?
