The same person must have designed CNN Headline News and the DU. I hope this is an April Fools joke!

" LEARNING CHALLENGED " , as you put it, have absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that the new format is slower than ice melting at 40 below zero, the incompatability with not only WebTV, but some computer systems, and the fact that it is hard on the eyes. Whoever chose the colors and font size, made mistakes.

This will drive people away. It is NOT " user friendly ".

I have already decreased my visits to this site for breaking news, since I can't figure out how to get it even following the directions.

It's not that hard. It was a bitch until John put up the Topics button (on top) (LOL! Having written a few pages, I DO know about that kind of error!). One can even set how many in each window and how the are organized, whether you want full posts or headers. It just takes a little experimentation. There are a few buttons where the labels are somewhat ambiguous, but that's an easy fix.

I didn't like it at first either. One thing I would like to see is a setting for a maximum size on the top frame with the banner announcements in the self-search (My Comments (bad label John)).

Flexibility such as this is a lot like freedom in self-government. It only works when the citizens are capable of managing it. Should we make the effort to learn or sit and whine that it's too hard?

You have that right !

I've been here a long time. I NEVER complained about any of the different " LOOK " changes, nor had a difficult time getting used to them. Now, I am complaing a LOT and so are others. This wastes my time ( if it gets any S-L-O-W-E-R to use, between posting and getting back to a thread, or just going from thread to thread to read an article, I'll be able to read a 300 page book inbetween each change ), hurts my eyes, and is hardly worth the bother .

I don't have bunions. My sinuses are fine; thank you for asking.

Maybe all of you , who LOVE this new and UNIMPROVED mess , can support FR, all on your lonesome.

I AM learning it, but that doesn't make it load any faster. If it's this slow now, what's going to happen when we have another event like 9/11 or the election fiasco? A few minutes ago I actually thought it had gone down, and was ready to head over to Yahoo.

Too many bells and whistles; whatever happened to the KISS Principle?

It would really be neat if FR kept track of donations and listed them next to people's screen names. 10-to-1 that most of the complainers have never donated a penny.

I've donated a fair amount over the years, I'll stack my donations up against yours anyday you want to.

I think the new format is horrible. I'm in despair over it, in fact. It' soooooo hard for me to read that I may be forced to go elsewhere.

And your whining about others whining about the latest changes sounds like what, a personal attack? lol...

It's just unbelievable to me that so many people who are sitting on their arses at home are bitchin' and moanin' about changes to FR!

I do a lot of Internet development and understand that amount of time that it takes to put something like this together and I just can't believe the attitudes of conservatives griping about something new essentially because they can't figure it out.

I like the new format. I think (not only does it make FR eye appeasing) but it makes this forum sexy. It makes it enticing. (Yes folks, YOUNG conservatives, wanna see something new and sexy to hold their interest). They are bombarded left right and center by glamour...why shouldn't they expect some sort of glitter from the hard core conservatism.

Oh..I'd have happily contributed to the old format.
But I completely appreciate and understand the changes
I live in little ol' Ireland. (Ye know, that little country on the fringe of Europe?). We have beautiful interactive websites that would easily rival FR. I think Jim Rob and John Rob should be applauded, not dissed for making conservatism on line, user friendly.

How long will it take any of you to get used to this. One day? Two?
Think what it could do for the conservative who is not a Freeper who happens to click on it on the www?

Thanks Jim and John...You've done a damn good job. And I'm just an Irish contributer.
