I didn't have enough info to do battle but your assessment was how it stuck me.

DeBeers is a monopoly. There was / is also " blood diamonds " , and that story is far too long to go into and irrelivant to this thread.

I was once, long ago, professionally involved with jewelry and the international trade of same. This IS something I do know about. Some of my clients were Tiffany & Co., Cartier, and very well known / upscale European and Japanese jewelers / houses. I have kept up with this topic.

Some people are anti-capitalists, engage in class warfare, and don't now what they attempt to talk about, here.
