This subject makes me so angry that I barely can comment with a civil ladylike tongue!
The Senate Judicary committee are behaving like dictators and must be stopped!

Isn't this a bit of a rhetorical flourish? Are you saying the Holy Joe Lieberman will only vote for Bush nominees that are card carrying members of Atheists of America?
It is petty and counterproductive for the democrats to hold up Bush's nominees, just like it was petty and counterproductive for the republicans to hold up all of Clinton's nominees, just like it was petty for the congress to hold up Jefferson's nominees.
Folks, there isn't anything new under the sun here. It is juvenile, but, it is nothing new.

Who designates one as a "Godly nominee?" Bush, the Pope, the Trilateral Commission, the Elders of Zion, Alan Greenspan, Robert Schuller, Jimmy Swaggart?
Does the nominee have to agree to tithe in order to obtain this designation?
If you take every 26th letter in the Bible and decipher the code, does it contain the names of these nominees?
Would a Godly nominee, upon appointment, be able to sell indulgences, or perhaps resinstitute trial by ordeal?
Where does this ecclesiastical court preside, and does it have jurisdiction over violations of the 10 Commandments? Will it hear priest child molestation cases?
As ministers, will Reverends Jackson and Sharpton be able to represent members of their flock before the court?

Thanks, david.
Signed and bumped!

Let's sue the DemonRats and file a human rights action against them. They're profiling against Conservative Christians. That's the way I see it. Works for me. 8-) How about you? Kristy
To: Young Rhino
That's all right cute, there, YR. However, you know darned well what the point here is.
As stated above by another FReeper, the Dems are "profiling" in a major way: Conservative (especially Christian Conservative) nominees need not apply.
Maybe you neither understand nor care why. Many of us do.

Apparently all these Freepers have forgotten that during the Clinton administration, Senate Judiciary Chair Orrin Hatch(GOP)refused to bring up the President's nominees for Federal judgeships for a vote. It got so bad that even conservative Justice Rehnquist warned of shortages of judges within the system. Now they are whining because they can't get their nominees ushered in. Hypocrites.... !

As stated above by another FReeper, the Dems are "profiling" in a major way: Conservative (especially Christian Conservative) nominees need not apply. I can understand. With all the pseudoscientific (anti-evolution/pro-Creationism) legislation they try to get passed and the other absurdities characteristic to conservatives who insist on pushing their Christianity on all, I wouldn't want them as a nominee either.

So then, you're an idiot. Thanks for publicizing it and saving some of us the trouble.
In the future, if I want your opinion, young lady, I'll ask you for it specifically.

Good question.. One I can not answer of definitively..the answer is not as important as the question itself.... the fact of the matter is if one is an outspoken Christian, of ANY denomination. they are targeted by the left..

Christians are required to support the GOP. Jerry and Pat say so.Don't pay any attention to them but I imagine they would. Got a problem with that?
Or are you a fan of People for the American Way, the group which is leading the charge to keep Christians off the bench? You do know where much of the money PFAW comes from, don't you? You a fan of those "industries?" Believe sleaze and booze merchants contribute a lot to America?
How the Seagram heirs sleep at night is a mystery but I guess money has a way of erasing guilt. Especially when one is doing something as wonderful as driving Christianity out of the public square.
Next porno movie you rent, remember, you are helping keep those evil Christians off the Federal Judiciary.
To: LarryLied
Don't pay any attention to them but I imagine they would. Got a problem with that? Well yeah ... esp since God doesn't require Christians to vote GOP, I don't see where Pat and Jerry get off saying they have this authority to require it of us.
Or are you a fan of People for the American Way, the group which is leading the charge to keep Christians off the bench?
I understand that they're keeping ultraconservatives off the bench, which I support. You see, not all Christians are politically conservative and don't support right-wing big government. I don't want to see workers' rights and workplace safety requirements eroded. IF there is a pro-life jurist who supports these workplace issues, I'll happily support him/her for the bench.
You do know where much of the money PFAW comes from, don't you?
Don't care -- I don't care about PFAW at all.
You a fan of those "industries?" Believe sleaze and booze merchants contribute a lot to America?
I don't patronize porn nor alcohol businesses, so I'd guess the answer is no.
Next porno movie you rent, remember, you are helping keep those evil Christians off the Federal Judiciary.
Well, since I don't rent porn, your charge is baseless. It's very appropriate that the word "LIE" is in your nickname here at FR, because you really have a thing for throwing out accusations (PFAW membership, anti-Christian etc) without any basis in fact.
As for judicial appointments, I wish Bush would appoint some more politically-moderate Christian jurists to the federal bench.

I understand that they're (People for the American Way) keeping ultraconservatives off the bench, which I support.Figured as much. No Clarence Thomas, Anthony Scalia or Robert Bork for you, right? Say Hi to Ruth Bader Ginsberg for us.
To: LarryLied
Figured as much. No Clarence Thomas, Anthony Scalia or Robert Bork for you, right? Say Hi to Ruth Bader Ginsberg for us. Typical of ultraconservatives who let Rush think for them.
I dislike ultraconservative jurists as much as I dislike ultraliberal jurists. Give me common-sense folks like Anthony Kennedy, William Rehquist, Sandra O'Connor, Steven Breyer any day over Bork or Ginsburg.
I just merely oppose extremism on the court -- whether it is conservative or liberal extremism.
How did Rush tell you to respond to that?

"Extremism"...lol
The Rush comment is right out of DU. You are on the wrong forum. Your pals at People for the American Way didn't get their way on Ashcroft did they? Bet that really tore you up. But Pickering was defeated. And now it looks like Norman Lear and his freaks will kill off Smith too. So you can take some comfort.
Better keep on top of things. Graduation days are upon on. Christiand are going to be praying all over the place. Millions and millions of them. Be sure to put the ADL, the NCJW and the ACLU on speed dial.
To: LarryLied
Again, it's very appropriate that "Lie" is in your FR nickname, because you have some trouble with the truth. You have figured (incorrectly) that just because I'm not a very-right-wing conservative that I'm aligned with the far-left wackos. LOL
I think you have trouble accepting the fact that most of America (including myself) is not at either extreme, right of left, of the political spectrum.
