Maybe Charleton Heston just doesn't like Commie-made AK-47s.

Anyone know his opinion on American-made AR-15s?

Guess Heston is unaware of the tragic events of 9/11.
It's ok for the Afgans to have AK 47's but NOT Americans.

"What group are you a card carrying member of?"

I belong to the only group that actually can make a difference.
My voter registration card.

hiya Tonkin ... thanks for the link .... and methinks its time for Heston to step down .... the NRA has been selling out law abiding gun owners for over 50 years .... this just reaffirms my decision NOT to have anything to do with the NRA

This is exactly why I do not fully support the NRA. They do not fully support us so why should we do that for them?

Are we blowing the bugle for all pro-gun activists as one unit ? or are we seeking to divide the force ?

Will we hang together ? Or be defeated!

Dear Mr. Heston:

You should really be more carefull about what you say on the radio. Even in California.

In the future, a little less political correctness, and alot less compromise, would serve better the four million NRA members out there.

Act like one of those "Mountain Men" guys and alot more of the hard core pro-gun patriots in America will respect you, and not FLAME you on FREEeeeeRepublic!

Apparently we're going to be divided and then defeated. Some of the people on this board can't wait for the NRA to be destroyed because they don't do enough while they sit on the sidelines and do nothing. Typical.

Ever wonder why he is holding a 250 year old, non-operating musket instead of an AR-15? Heston has basically said that the NRA will not actively work to make sure the "Assault Weapon" ban sunsets in 2004 and that the NRA will not oppose further restrictions on ownership of "assault weapons".

If I was a civil engineer, that would make me very nervous. I think most highways in the USA are not designed for that sort of traffic.

That can change by voting for better members of the board. Of course, when you have four and a half million members of the NRA and 80 million gunowners sitting on the sidelines doing nothing, it's easy to see why the NRA can't get things done.

One gunowner told me he won't join again because they didn't send him a hat.

Gunowners on this board said they hate the NRA because they supported one of the ten parts of CARA.

One gunowner told me he won't join again because they didn't send him a little trinket on a chain.

A couple of gunowners told me they won't join because they don't want to get on a list.

One gunowner told me they don't like the NRA because they ask for money

ETC. Always an excuse not to do something.
