Homosexual Activists Want to Silence Nation's Youth

(CNSNews.com) - School kids across America may have their first encounter with homosexuality this week and there's little parents or teachers can to do stop it from happening.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a homosexuality advocacy group, is asking students nationwide to take a nine-hour vow of silence on Wednesday, April 10, to recognize and protest the plight of homosexual students.

Instead of speaking up in class, students ranging from sixth grade to college level are expected to distribute information cards, sport stickers and wear t-shirts that promote the pro-homosexuality message from GLSEN.

School faculty and administrators at "participating" schools can expect to receive cards stating:

"Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies.

My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices.

Think about the voices you are not hearing today. What are you going to do to end the silence?"

Currently, GLSEN estimates that students from more than 1,265 middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities "in all 49 states and Puerto Rico" will participate in the Day of Silence.

However, those numbers do not necessarily represent the number of schools that actively endorse the silent protest.

GLSEN permits a child or adult to "register" their local school or college on the Day of Silence registration page, without the endorsement of the school and its administration.

Silence As A Tactic

According to a 40-page Day of Silence Organizing Manual, silence provides homosexual activists and their allies with a tool that can make a "powerful statement of resistance."

Students participating in the Day of Silence are instructed by the manual to resist and protest what GLSEN calls the gender "norms" established by people who feel threatened by girls that act like boys, or boys that act like girls.

The GLSEN manual also states that disagreement with homosexuality has a "broader and deeper" connection to "oppressions," and tries to equate disagreement with homosexuality with racism, and discrimination against women and people with disabilities.

Homosexual Hit List

Day of Silence organizers suggest that children planning to protest April 10 "brainstorm" to create a list of people "who are likely to stand in your way."

Those people should include teachers, counselors and administrators that have "denied you their support in the past, or who've expressed bias against (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered) people.

It is also suggested that the list include other children, school board members, people in the community and relatives "who have shown intolerance" of homosexuality.

The organizing manual notes that "people who oppose your issue are known as, you guessed it, your opponents."

A Year of Silence?

At least one conservative organization is in favor of keeping homosexual activists and their allies silent in the classrooms year round.

Robert Knight, director of the Culture and Family Institute, an affiliate of Concerned Women for America, favors extending the period of silence "indefinitely" so school kids can concentrate on their studies "and not be distracted and misled by homosexual propaganda."

Knight said it's wrong for children to be told the traditional values taught by their parents and churches are a form of hatred

"It's hateful in and of itself to suggest such a thing, and it's a way to silence people who disagree with homosexuality," he said.

Kids who favor marriage and family, Knight said, are being called 'bigot,' 'homophobe,' 'right-wing nut' and 'fundamentalist extremist' by homosexual activists.

While the name-calling against people who disagree with homosexual behavior continues, GLSEN complains that homosexual students are being harassed with terms like 'faggot' and 'dyke.'

Knight said he knows of a more productive way to stop the name-calling, and suggested schools place greater emphasis on teaching manners instead of promoting homosexuality.

"You can teach civility in the schools without promoting homosexuality as normal and healthy," he said. "They're saying you must promote homosexuality in order to make the schools safe for confused kids who might be abused by their peers.

"You can tolerate behavior that is wrong, but to accept and promote (homosexuality) goes beyond tolerance," Knight said. He clarified that events such as the Day of Silence are "aiding and abetting," homosexuality by using children "as their front line troops."

Knight asked, "How about leaving the kids alone?"

"To this I say, "Kids, if you've never been talkitive before, you'd better change for the 10th and talk your jaws off". Parents please protect your children from the queer lunatics."

Two excellent web sites that will help students when they are faced with homosexual indoctrination:

Choice 4 Truth (http://www.choice4truth.com/)

They have two sections - one for parents and one for students/teens. Here's the link for student section:

http://www.choice4truth.com/index-teens.html

There is some really good material under the "Take the Student Pledge" section that kids can use to respond with when they are faced with queer propaganda.

Truthatschool.org (http://www.truthatschool.org/)

This site also has sections for parents and students, but is primarily a web site for students (with lots of good information).

If it were up to me, I would favor a year a silence from the Gay Activists.

LOL! Great response. You know, that would require some p-s TEACHERS to be silent for a year!

I think we need to start our own list of homosexual pervert supporters...

"How will the kids know about this? Will the gays advertise on toon disney? It's not like most teens read the paper or anything."

MTV Airs 'Tolerance' Ads

"... The campaign is a partnership effort of MTV and the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, which calls it the "largest ever" series of announcements on the subject. The messages claim homosexual acceptance is a "safety" issue — a common theme for homosexual activists.

The spots are tied to a Web page that seeks to pass along pro-gay information, as well as inviting teens to participate in activism. For instance, there's an online petition favoring so-called "hate crimes legislation." ..."

Human Rights Campaign Foundation invades saturday morning cartoons (My title)

"Earlier today, I was watching saturday morning cartoons. Specifically "Transformers: Robots In Disguise" on FOX Kids. (What can I say? I've been a Transformers fan since 1984, since I was 6.) During the second commercial break, a commercial aired which began with Ellen Degeneres' mother onscreen. In it, her and several actors talked about parents accepting and understanding their children, whether they're gay or straight. The ad ended with the phrase Choose to understand and the name of the organization that funded the ad, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, as well as a link to their website.

Now, am I wrong to be shocked by this? Here's why I'm shocked by it, at any rate.

These are saturday morning cartoons, watched mainly by 7 year olds, who have NO CONCEPT AT ALL of sexuality, much less homosexuality. And as a parent, you feel it's alright for your children to watch saturday morning cartoons, as their can't possibly be any bad messages for them to watch. Little would you know, though, that the Human Rights Campaign Foundation would use it to ram their beliefs down your childs throat while you're unaware. To bring sexuality into their innocent world..."

I must commend you for the work you do here. But the parents have to fight these people one on one. We have done that locally, and won. But there could be a new war next year. These SOB's never stop trying.

I 100% agree with this guy.. using kids as a political statement is wrong no matter what the issue is! I also agree that if homosexual's want to promote tolerence than they should be prompoting just that through teachers at the school in a broad sense(hell even on a class that teaches any type of racism or bigotry is wrong). In any case what Knight wants is to say "Hey, you have your opinion and I have mine. Can we just leave it at that?" What this group is asking of kids isn't to promote tolerance but to promote the lifestyle as acceptable... Homosexuality should be viewed like any other political view.. or by people themselves.. Republicians may not agree with Dems but they don't go around hating and beating the crap out of em. Knight is right in the message he ist rying to get across.

I certainly would hope that you aren't surrounded by people that think if a woman gets killed by leaving with a guy/guys is the normal view in society.. that's pretty sad if you think that is the normal view.

Let no gay say that the gay movement is all about rights. It is an attempt to silence all opposition to their filth, and it is an attempt to take over the nation's youth.

FORGET ABOUT IT!!! DEMAND that the administrators send a note to all teachers saying this crap will not be tolerated!!!!!!!!!!! OR demand the right to have a day of your OWN to tell the FLIP SIDE homosexual lifestyles-----STARTING WITH THE LIFE SPAN of an active homoesexual.

And, we could work to make sodomy illegal through state laws. It is time that decent people started fighting back.

Folks, this may be getting blown out of proportion. So far, two of the four (elementary, middle, and high) schools my children and step-children attend haven't heard of this Day. I'll ask about the other two today or tomorrow.
