I agree with you on something, Illbay.
No sex until marriage, and with one woman for life. Sounds like an excellent plan.

I have these funny white bumps all over "down there" is that normal?
JK :)
To: Illbay
Great advise, Illbay. But a little late for most of us.
I mean, I can't take back my misspent youth although I will stay faithful to my one and only true love now.
Does that count?

Well, I'm 25, and I can remember the term veneral disease being used as the most common term. If I'm not mistaken, the change in wordage occurred from 1985-1990.

I disagree with people who think some STDs are more serious than others. In my household, there is no difference in bringing home simple crabs or AIDS.
I'm dead either way.

a range of 30 different sexual maladies. Could we start a pool on how many Bubba has?

What the heck is a cootie?

No, I don't...just throwing the article out here for debate. If the numbers are correct though, it's a bit scary. Given the number of learned people on this forum, the stats will get picked apart, or confirmed. How would we know the CDC would tell the truth on this matter, anyway?

UNLESS your spouse has an STD and you didn't find out till a few days after that wonderful honeymoon... Then what???
You could demand a full spectrum of tests before the marriage. Once upon a time a good number of states required by law that a couple intent on marriage be tested for VD and the results given to the participants. Some even required follow on tests some time into the marriage. As late as 1988, Pennsylvania definitely required tests before marriage.

"Then what???"
First step is divorce.

I'd see your doctor immediately. And, I didn't need to know.

Forget about the double standard. Sexual "open-ness" (legs, I guess) hurts women much worse than men. Men are often non-symptomatic, wheras women are symptomatic...plus are hurt permananrlty many times in regards to future pregnancies (but that's no problem nowadays since no one wants kids anyway). Men are naturally more permissive then women. God seems to have placed this into the natural order. When women become as "whorish" as men, the society is truly in trouble (there would be no society without the restraints and nurture by when - men just break things and kill people. Women are the true "civilizers").

Hey, along the lines of this story, I'm trying to find out the name of a woman, thirties I'd guess, who goes around to schools across the country and gives some pretty blunt, and engrossing, talks on this topic to teens. I've seen a videotape of her before kids in an auditorium and she had their rapt attention.
I heard her on Hannity (radio) five or six months ago... I'd like to see if I can find the videotape I saw, just can't remember her name...

STD is more of a politically-correct "victim" thing. Almost a "cool" thing, a badge of honor or something. Even though, as previous poster xm said, it is more descriptive.

Well, gee. They look kind of cute.
To: FlyVet
I agree. The term "Venereal" gives you the "willies", whereas "sexually-transmitted" isn't as "williesh".

Women are either special princesses or sluts. And Don Myers,
More white girls are having sexual relations with the blacks. It is worth it for the diversification of our culture?
Wow that was bigoted!
