Red heifer born in Israel
Israel National News ^

Red Heifer Born in Israel (IsraelNN.com) In these days of difficulty for the Land of Israel, there is encouraging news as well...

It can now be revealed that less than one month ago, a red heifer was born in Israel. After the heifer's owner contacted the Temple Institute, on Friday, April 5th, 2001, Rabbi Menachem Makover and Rabbi Chaim Richman traveled to the farm where the heifer is located, to inspect and validate her status. The rabbis found her to be kosher and were satisfied that this heifer could indeed be a candidate to be used in the process of purification described in the book of Numbers, chapter 19. This is a prerequisite for the rebuilding of the Holy Temple.

Tradition records that a red heifer in our generation is a herald of the Messianic era. It is certainly an important development towards the rebuilding of the Holy Temple. Our sages taught that Israel’s redemption can be compared to the dawn. "In the beginning, it progresses very slowly...but as it continues, it grows brighter and brighter."

Pictures of the heifer may be viewed at the Temple Institute .

Sorry to be such a skeptic, but why do you think that darned heifer was born NOW? Maybe to keep charismatics in line?

Trip or not, those folks take this particular prophecy quite seriously.

Consider the implications of what would happen if they decided, on the basis of this heifer, to remove the "abominable" Dome of the Rock from the Temple Mount.

"Ugly ramifications" does not even begin to describe it.

Ok, imagine this scenario. Aliens from space land in your backyard. They just happen to speak perfect English, and they want to chat with you about current events here on Earth. In the course of your discussions you explain to them that the birth of a "red calf" in Israel is a sign of the end of the world, and that you and many other people are taking serious steps to prepare yourselves for the end of the world because of the birth of this calf.

You notice the aliens looking at each other with strange looks on their faces. They soon wrap up the conversation and bid you goodbye. As they are walking up the ramp to their ship you notice them checking a box next to the name "Earth" on a list. The box is marked "Hopelessly Insane".

Removal of the Dome of the Rock for the purposes of rebuilding the Temple is unlikely as the exact location of the Holy of Holies is unknown and observant Jews would not run the risk of treading on that ground accidentally.

They've requested no hotlinks, but the pictures are here.

PETA's going to be upset about this.

I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade - but there has to be more to this story than being a "red heifer". Red heifers are a dime a dozen in many parts of the world.

Since the book The Revelation was written in the late 1st century prophecy experts have been certain their generation was living in the last days. To be biblically accurate, the entire time since the incarnation, death, and resurrection of Christ can be characterized as the "last days." We do not adorn the gospel or gain any credibility when we try to read into current events the fulfillment of prophecy. This is at best sensationalism and at worst deception. No man knows the day or the hour. Period.

So we are insane for believing in God and prophecy but YOU, who believes in space aliens, is sane? Right. BTW, the message from the mothership behind the comet said not to drink the Kool-Aid.

I think they require the heifer to be born in Isreal which makes this one special, the ones born everywhere else in the world are just cows.

I don't know about that. After all, the Jews rebuilt the Temple at least once (and I think more) in the OT.

And, I suspect, observant Jews have already figured out where the Holy of Holies has to have been -- from the veeerrrrryyyy!!!! detailed instructions provided in the Bible.

At any rate, I suspect they've figured out a way to avoid the problem. The heifer-based purification in Numbers 19 is part of the solution.

Red heifers are a dime a dozen in many parts of the world.

Not in Israel, apparently. Supposedly a pure red heifer has not been born in Israel for a very long time (I can't recall if it's since the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD, or even before that).

The appearance of a pure red heifer has long been taken as a messianic sign. There was big excitement a few years back, when one was supposedly born. Hopes were dashed when they found a few white hairs.

But its NO fun that way. My foil hat requires that I give every bit of news out of Israel a prophetic twist.
