A long read - but VERY important points made. One statement I keep hearing is that former Pres. Bush allowed Suddam to go free. If I recall, it was the EU that had made Bush promise BEFORE the Gulf War not to kill Suddam. Does anyone else recall this?

I feel the current Bush administration is making a BIG mistake in recognizing Arafat - this article makes that point every effectively. Bush seems ready to sacrifice Israel's security all for the sake of holding Arab nations together for his war on Suddam. As I've said before, THE HELL WITH THE ARAB NATIONS. We will have to take Suddam by ourselves - no matter what the Arabs may say now or later.

I agree it's one of the best pieces I've read on this subject - so good I sent it to the WH. I only hope responsible people will read it. Speaking of the WH, does anyone have email addresses for individuals there? The only one I have is: president@whitehouse.gov,vice-president@whitehouse.gov

I'm not sure things I send are getting to either Bush or Chaney.

Why Arafat?

Joseph Farah

Please look at the photo accompanying this column.

Stare at it. View it carefully. Study the image.

This is the face of Yasser Arafat's terror.
This is what it looks like.
This is how he remains in power.
This is why we continue to deal with this murdering fiend after more than 30 years.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

This one may be worth many more.

The story behind this photo is simple. It's not unique. The victim is called a "collaborator" by Arafat's "police force." He was one of Arafat's terrorists who was suspected of working with Israel in some way.

The important thing to understand about this photo is that this is how Arafat rules his own people – by sheer terror, by brute force, by barbaric tactics that would be unimaginable to most in the West.

Yet, we continue to deal with him. We continue to support him financially with U.S. taxpayer dollars. We continue to give him credence as an international peacemaker.

If you care to know more details, the victim was eviscerated after this picture was taken. I have photos of that, too. I will spare you the more gruesome images.

Excellent clarity. He answers why, for example, Israeli Generals are getting knee-weak in dealing with Arafat. Why the leftist and many on the right are in the "root-cause" mode every time something hits us or our friends.

He explains why democracies are in constant danger to be taken advantage of by consciousless thugs from criminals to terrorists.

Self-analysis and self-examination are a good thing, and I think are prerequisites for progress. But, they need to be consciously limited in the face of the evil, because they render the good - impotent and defenseless.

I have an expanded theory, and the key point of the article on the usage of children is typical definitional politics. It is that good people fall into the hypnotising definitional trap that the terrorist imposes. The terrorist sets the issues, he can persuade others of his romantic identity and good will.

This is combat. Action makes knee jerk reaction. Hit someone in the stomach, they will bend their heads forward as one's elbow flies upward against it.

Terrorists know that every time they define themselves, every time they bomb, people will be frozen or, rather, they will tend to be attracted to the first power they perceive, following the law of primacy that baby geese rely on to determine who their mother is. Moreover, terrorists have the great advantage of being the first ones to raise the issues, and hence to set the issues on a topic on which they will have dominance of knowledge and familiarity.

Palestinians after all are more familiar with Israel than we are. They also have a dominant knowledge there. Last, but not least, they will initiate the issues of territorialism and autonomism and fight us over this ground which we can hardly deny them the upper hand.

The bottom line is this: we let them define themselves and others, we let them bomb and assert themselves, we let them do what we perceive we like to let our own children do. Palestinians have this childlish charm and they use children. Many parents would let their children get away with murder in the west, and we do the same with Palestinian Khmer Rouge.

Where we see that Bush maybe completely disoriented himself with his elites, is when they themselves want peace and prosperity (assumably more so than terrorists, God forbid), yet they exacerbate and incite war and hatred in the middle east by repeating over and over the same definitions they have about Israel and Palestinians. ARe they brainwashed? Hypnotised? Or they brainwashing us? Do they want peace and push for war unknowingly, or do they want to bankrupt their deals in the Middle East and want to blame the terrorists? Hence pushing for war with good reason in subtle manner? Which is which????

If they were sane and did not want war, they would forbid terrorist identity, they would forbid both side any identity, and seek instead to impose a transcending jurisdiction that would be separated from cult, classes and races, and which would separate the waring parties, at the very least equaly strongly.

But no, what do we see? We see Israel getting punished with terror and Western indiference when Israel refrains itself from defining Palestinians despite the terror attacks, despite the Palestinians embracing fascist hatreds and fascist love of themselves and their fabricated causes and despite the transcending contracts that AMerica and Israel hold together in the fight against terror.

Yet we play down the Palestinian identity and terror, we even encourage it, calling for a Palestinian homeland the very day the WTC got bombed. Worse, when people out West find that their money has indeed supported the terrorism and the death on their own soil, there is a death spiral instinct of supressing disturbing testimony, testimony of those who suffer and who could raise a trail of guilt that could go all the way on to the very desks of the elites.

This is when good people become evil and collude with evil. It is a spiral, it starts as a tricle and soon it grows very quickly.

It originate primarily from two things: allowing visible definitions to sip in as opposed to more difficult to discern jurisdictions and contracts. The dynamic of guilt and witness intimidation is quickly started once one makes such fatal initial mistake. Any crook can hook anyone any time with this method and control them to do the worst of attrocities, even though it becomes more and more obvious the attrocities are commited. Refrain from definition, impose jurisdictions.

Bush should not define the situation in blunt terms, he should refrain from defining, he should scold on those defining and act on this jurisdiction, not on definitions over which he has no arbitrary right nor jurisdiction.

Bush may want peace, but he is pushing for war. BIG TIME!!! His compassionate conservatism is in full view right now. It is an entitlement mentality, a Roman decadance, that encourages cults to compet politicaly and to meddle with the affairs of the Congress and rulers. Compassionate conservatism encourages definition and identity, instead of moderating it and separating it from government. It encourages the view of a Palestinian homeland and of Israeli "eye for eye" action, instead of moderating the homeland demands and the grotesque Nazi pictures of one may have of Jews and Israelies. THe media is going full bore pitting one side against the other, hoping for a major war.

We heard those rumblings before Kosovo, they are ominous. The media wants blood, everyone wants blood. Yet no one sees that Israel has been trying to moderate the views, and no one cares. The media could be smart and pit fairly the two sides as in a Jerry Springer show or Wrestling match, but no, the media is such a swine, they will even go to the extent of chosing a side, of favoring a side, of playing the game itself instead of making others play the game, they follow like pigs instinctively the basest of the trails of sh!t they can smell. If opposing view to incite war is not smelly enough crap, they will roll in it like dogs and pigs and participate in the mayhem they created themselves.

We are witnessing an orgy of incredible proportions. And our elite is going along with it, incredible!!! The only thing I hope is that some in our elite do want to bankrupt the region and are manipulating things. At least they would show some control of themselves. But it does not even seem to be the case!!!!

I will add that liberals are very much into art because once you dominate art, once you can create competitive and even monopoly art, you win the contest of primacy, you make yourself loved because you are the first one people will see. No matter how evil one's goals, the mass does not have the luxury of thinking but of seeing. It will tend to appreciate what it sees first.

BUt this is only one law of learning. There are other such laws, such as the law of proximity, repetition, affection etc...

I think that when one goes to war, one of two mindsets are needed. Either that you are under orders and therefore relieved of responsibility for killing another human being as in the military, or you have to close your heart to emotion and uncomplicate the situation. In other words make the situation black or white, kill or be killed.

The Elite's of the world have chosen to do anything to make the situation appear a great deal more complicated than it really is. They spout platitudes and utter phrases to make themselves look important and to justify the abject fear they have of taking any direct action.

Millions have died waiting for their leadership to simply make a decision. Some, however have the courage as individuals to see the battle for what it is. The battle between good and evil.

As long as we continue to allow our so-called leadership to keep putting mud in the water, the conflict will continue on a small and individual basis.

The fight between the Israeli's and the Palistinians will continue until one side is wiped out. Various internal and external forces have, for their own agendas, made this conflicts purpose and goal unrecognizable even to the participants. It is my fervent hope that Israel can somehow see the simple light and resolutely, with all speed, eliminate the pestilence of a hostile, evil presense in their midst.

How many have to die before the simple truth is recognized?
