David Boren... I hate to be a name dropper again (not really) but I met his cousin, humorist Jim Boren. A nice enough guy but his wife was really annoying. I chronicled this incident in my "I Was A Commie Writer" article.

Matthews isn't likable (to me) because I think he began to believe his own PR, always a fatal mistake. Plus, he spits when he talks.

George Carlin---I met him at a get-together for the Krokodil writers from Russia. Very approachable guy and easy to talk to.

(Name The Liberals That You LIKE!!!) Sadly, re our government officials, it's getting very hard to tell them apart. Just saw that my Dem Senator weighted in against human cloning.
My Republican Senator is a fence sitter, and my experience with him is that he is fence sitter on every issue. I would have a lot more respect for him if he took a stand on anything--even if I disagreed with him.

Howzabout Harry Truman? Ripped the GOP Congress but had the cojones to actually use the A-bomb and end the war.
"(p.s. Petra Verkaik was the best Playmate ever.)"
Blasphemer! ;) Lisa Matthews is head and shoulders (and other things) above ALL others!!

Paul Fussel, the author of "Class" and "BAD". (Both books should be required reading for college freshmen, btw.) Although a terrifying liberal, he is unafraid to skewer pretension wherever he sees it.
I used to love the rise provoked when people saw me carrying a copy of Mr. Fussell's delightful collection of essays called Thank God For The Atom Bomb...

William Raspberry A liberal who can still think, and therefore will say some conservative things.
Juan Williams An honest liberal who will argue against the liberal position, if he disagrees with it.
Maybe Michael Kinsley I think that he's the liberal who said that you can not have gun control without first repealing the 2nd admendment.

I too was devastated when I learned that Hackman and Garner are both lefties.
(Hey, PJ, I met Garner once!)

Great topic, PJ.
1. Pat Cadell - on Election Night 2000, I saw him for the first time. He was the ONLY liberal I saw that night who spoke his mind about the Bad Juju that was impending. He shut Begala up right quick. Over the course of the recount, he continued to buck the Party line, and was extremely critical of the Gore/Daley machine for screwing with the Constitution. He may be a liberal, but he's an honest one.
2. Ronn Owens - Talk Host - KGO 810, San Francisco. Liberal Democrat who, although having voted for Gore, became markedly supportive of Bush, after being skeptical of him. He has not followed the retreat of the rest of the media libs to Bush-bashing. I don't always agree with him, but he can admit when hes changed his opinion, unlike Bernie (Ward) the Hutt and Ray Taliban Taliaferro.

Bush, both dad and this two sons. which two? I think that the Bush's have 4 sons.

Ted Turner, but only because he's so plain spoken and thoughtless in his comments that he reveals the true liberal agenda. Poor guy. He's a liberal but he never learned to mask his intentions.

Tip O'Neill was one of the last great, honorable Democratic politicians.
Today they're almost without exception sleazy Clinton clones.
