I saw that mistake when I posted, but hey, still "A GREAT INVESTMENT" even at 10x the cost.

>I recently attended a breakfast meeting and Chuckie Schumer was the speaker. ...an Iraq invasion was to be expected sooner rather than later...1) Could be. Since the 9/11 attacks had an Egyptian planner and Saudi bankers and foot soldiers, I'd imagine that the US may attack any country but Egypt or Saudi Arabia. That means Iraq could be a target.
2) Well, be careful of the phrase "sooner rather than later." That was made famous by Klinton, and it translates into normal human usage as "never"...

If Rush is so sure - where is the armor? There has been no news of movements of heavy armor into Kuwait Already there.... pre-positioned and ready for crews.

does anyone else think this may be a bad time? You have to consider that the recent terrorist activity in Israel was spurned on by Iraq to make it a "bad time" for the U.S. to invade Iraq.
Most (if not all) of the palestinian terrorist groups are heavily subsidised by Iraq, and have close ties to Iraq. If Saddam told them he wanted them to create a crisis in Israel, you can bet they would do it. Remember, the first thing Iraq did in the Gulf War was attack Israel.
There will never be a good time for the U.S. to invade Iraq. When things cool down, and it looks like the U.S. is planning to invade Iraq, it is a sure bet that something will happen involving Israel and the Palestinians, and it will suddenly be a "bad time" to invade Iraq.

Weren't we told recently, that to be 'a bit more effective',we were going to 'build' more armaments for several months first? And what happened to that $93,000,000 (or whatever it was) that #42 gave to the CIA to use against the Saddam, for the people in the north?Surely I'm not the only person who remembers talk about that in Congress a couple years ago, right?

I hate to say it but Bush is pulling a classic clinton move. His pollsters are telling him his ratings are about to go down, the conservatives are giving him a lot of heat about his recent leftist policies....so we bomb Iraq.

"I thought our nukes were clean nukes with very short half lives
You speaking as an authority or off the top of your head"
I can't say if we have clean nukes or not even if I knew but I used to have "access" to know a little bit about fallout and dangers of radiation and what I posted I found on google in about 30 minutes so it's no secret. The fallout is real but how much and how far can be debated but either way any amount would cause the US Public to freek out.

I will go on record as predicting that an Iraq invasion is not imminent.

I think we'll know more after the Saudi prince visit soon?

Things move more slowly than you imagine. With good reason, of course.

I heard that today, and, while I, at first, thought he was saying "imminent," the second or third time I heard it I believe he was saying "eminent."

I will go on record as predicting that an Iraq invasion is not imminent. I think in the next six months. The military just admitted to an incredibly big mistake, they are going to have to do something to take the heat off of it, and help Bush in the polls. Bush isn't stupid, it worked for billy bob, it'll work for him.

Imminent means in April. It will be all over by early June. If it's in April, the obvious next question is: using what? At which point the whole issue reverts to my original point: what does "invasion" mean?
