It is more than anti-semetism at work in Europe. They just don't want to be bothered with "some elses" war in their back yard. Same thing as in WWII. Call it the Lord Chamberlain syndrome.
If the terrorists crashed planes in their cities they would be screaming for the U.S. to do something about it.

Don't sweat it, man- we all know the words. FWIW, I have read this gal's work before, and she is a fine writer and something of a firebrand. Another FReeper called her a "female swashbuckler" and that's a pretty good description in my book. I hear she's somewhat left-wing, but couldn't care less- she's got the fire that a lot of writers never manage to convey in print. Here's more:
-La rabbia e l'orgoglio (Rage and Pride) --
I hear she's old and sick now, more's the pity- we could use a few more like her.

Thanks for the ping.
A brilliant and important essay!
Radical islam is an insane death cult, and "moderate" islam is its trojan horse in the West.

Plus they are terrified of the millions of muslims living angrily in their midst: the islamic trojan horse.
For now, they are happy to let them be angry at Isreal, for tomorrow the bombs may explode in French or Dutch or German cafes.

Don't worry about Europe they are a mummy of a civilization that used to be there.

On the other hand, Defense Minister Antonio Martino, of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi´s center-right Forza Italia party, said he found Fallaci´s argument "convincing." (from link above) And to those imbeciles from the left who were attacking Berlusconi we now have two good pronouncements from his government. The first was to laud the superiority of Western and Christian processes and now this in defence of Fallaci while the Communists were condemning her. Who are the real fascists?

In that, they fit the classic definition of 'appeaser', which is "He who throws everyone else to the crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
I suspect most of the 'backbone' genes left Europe for the New World a long time ago.

Profanity has its place in a profane situation.
Great article. The lines are being drawn.

And the 'appeasment' gene was left behind. Makes a lot of sense really.
