And just who started using the victims, blaming conservatives from Rush Limabaugh to Newt Gingrich for the OKC bombing ? Most victims I suspect would prefer the truth.
Traditional conservative reporters, those we know to be 'friends', be it Evans Ambrose Pritchard to the New American all reported on (how quickly we forget) Andres Strassmeir's strange reltionship with the US Dept. of Defense, McVeigh, the Aryan Republican Army, the Irish Republican Army, Kirky Lyons (who also appeared on coincidentally, on the losing side of the Waco lawsuits on behalf of the victims).
I never said I was interested in nuking Iraq. I am interested in knowing the truth about recent events, so that proper steps can be taken to ensure the security of the U.S.
Yes, but a fertilizer bomb was NOT what brought down the building. It was, possibly, "diversion."
Things are never as they seem in spookland, and there can be several layers of things waiting to be "discovered" on purpose.
Mmm hmm. But the buildings right across the street suffered little damage. And the feds STILL won't release the (several) video tapes that were running BEFORE THE EXPLOSION AND AS IT OCCURRED from nearby businesses. And the crater isn't the right size. Etc etc etc.
Move along - nothing to see here.
MULTIPLE incidents, all showing what a pile of ANFO can do. If they can do that much damage accidentally, and such accidents happened repeatedly, it's NOT a stretch for someone to say "hey, I'll do that intentionally!".
not a bomb in the OKC bombing sense.
What part of "large quantity of ANFO ignited in a confined space equals an OKC type bomb" don't you get? The only difference between the listed accidents and OKC is intent and a rented truck!
what is common knowledge today was not then common knowledge.
BS. That was common knowledge in farming country (gee, lots of fertilizer & desel around: AN + FO + spark = BOOM). I learned it in high school out of the chemistry teacher's textbooks. Farmers used it regularly.
A couple of ANFO bombs have been used in the middle east since OKC, but I don't know of any before then and appearently neither do you.
Didn't you read my post? I listed numerous instances! That they occurred accidentally is largely irrelevant, as they HAPPENED on an OKC scale. Maybe Nichols/McVeigh was the first time it was used intentionally on that scale, but the accidents show that it was simple to do on that scale; was just a matter of time before motivation converged.
Amen, bro, but what really amazes me is that they COME HERE!!!!! Why would someone belong to Free Republic if they take the clinton administration's word at face value for every event of the last 9 years. And yet, the minute someone questions the "official state dogma" about anything, they say "tin foil hat" "get a clue" "the wingnuts are out today" ...
It amazes me! Why don't they just watch Dan Rather if they truly disbelieve everything we talk about here? None of us KNOW the truth about the clinton stuff for a fact. We are all groping our way to the truth, which requires a certain amount of speculation. If they really believe the govt tells them the truth about everything, what are they doing on this website?
Neither is it as difficult a process as you imply.
A few ounces can remove a stump.
A boatload practically removed a city.
Somewhere inbetween is the truckload which is enough when detonated a few feet from major support columns.
But doesn't leave a crater commensurate-sized directly under the bomb and doesn't damage buildings across the street.
Bombs lose their punch as they travel through space. The do the most damage against the material they are directly in contact with. In this case, that would be the street. The street directly under the truck should have had more damage to it than the murrah bldg.
Ok, so he made several trips. 'tis possible that he even consulted with some people on those trips. The confession might even be entirely true.
My key point in my OKC rants is not to wholly disprove some conspiracy theories (though others are flagrantly preposterous), but to show that they are not necessary. Too many TV-addled brains can't comprehend Occam's Razor, and don't understand reality enough to know where it applies. Too many OKC conspiracy theorists insist "they MUST have had help, or been set up, or had an Arab connection, or...". (Between socialsim, movies and advertising, far too many people are brainwashed into thinking people can't act on their own, that there MUST be complex conspiratorial help.) At minimum, it is entirely reasonable to consider that Nichols & McVeigh may very well have done the whole thing on their own. Is there more to the story? probably. Is more necessary to the story? no.
