SACRAMENTO, Calif -- Two men are being sought for allegedly pulling off to the side of a dead end road and unleashing a vicious pit bull on an unsuspecting cat. And the entire assault was caught on videotape.
Security video captured the attack last January at an industrial area in north Sacramento off Striker and Truxel roads.
The videotape shows the men stopping their car and popping the trunk open. That's when a cat jumps out. The dog takes off in hot pursuit. The cat is eventually cornered.
"What they're doing here is dragging out the cat. They have something around its neck," SPCA officer Katy Peralta said.
And after the cat is horribly mauled by the pit bull. One man dumps it in the street in front of the car's left front tire. The other man rolls the car over the animal, first forward and then backward.
"The guy standing in front of the car will lift the cat up and toss it into the field. That's what he just did. And the guy in the checkered sweatshirt just let the dog go to continue mauling the cat," Peralta said.
The cat was found in that field by investigators the next day.
"There could be one of two things they're doing here. They could want to intentionally hurt some one close to them by taking someone's cat, or they training that animal to be a fighter," Peralta said.
In this case, a bigger concern for the SPCA is when a dog is trained to chase anything that runs away, its next victim may be a child. The SPCA is now asking the public to help find these two men. They are driving a 1990s model Toyota Celica with a license plate in the front passenger window. The dog is a brown or tan pit bull. And investigators believe the cat, with some unique markings, may have been some one's pet.
"It is a black and brown tabby cat with four white paws, very distinctive. It's a neutered male, and it's very young," Peralta said.
The SPCA is now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the two men.
When caught, the men will face animal cruelty charges. Charges that could put them behind bars for up to five years with a $20,000 fine.
If you have any information on the case, you are asked to call the SPCA at (916) 383-7387, extension 9127

And what many people don't understand is that those that harm humans usually start with animals.
I just want someone to explain to me why these pukes did this. Maybe they can explain while unleash some dogs on them.

This definitely sounds like someone training dogs to harm humans. If this is the case this is serious.
To: Bella_Bru
Something like this is so hard for me to believe....I think I would go into some kind of shock if I saw this....and I would completely lose it and attack those guys out of madness and insanity. That poor cat....How horrible.

I like dogs, I own cats, I loathe people that are so weak that they have to have animals act out their fantasies of power and bloodlust. This makes me want to join the ASPCA Swat team, except I'd tend to aim for the groin and forget to apply first aid or call for the ambulance.
To: Bella_Bru
I'm no cat lover, nor am I a PETA fan, but these yahoos should go to jail.

If you think these pukes are great for what they did, then why don't you be a man and say so?
To: Bella_Bru
Justice would be for the perpetrators to have done to them what they did to the cat.
To: Bella_Bru
I hoppe they catch these sicko's and they get the max penalty, 5 years and $20,000.

Just a quick question from someone who lives near Sacramento and travels frequently to Sac city.
Are the suspects White, Black, Brown, Oriental, or Indian?
I know we live in a world that does not like racial profiling but if we are to get these sadistic bastards it would be nice to know what they look like!

Sink, he's just poking at Sungirl due to her assinine posts and rash generalizations on a series of threads dealing with hunting...
Besides, you know he's just funnin' since a cat by itself is too small to make a good meal [unless we're talking about a Maine Coon Cat or a Norwegian Forest Cat]; besides, they're too stringy and don't taste good with CHEESE
Now slow-roasted shitzu...there's a delicacy...

I noticed that too. This is the kind of mentality that singles out grandmothers for search at the airport while the swarthy, nervous guys saunter on through.

YOU ARE SICK!!!!!!! You should be ashamed of your self. You do not respect life. Those kind of animals would not hesitate to do this to a child or someone weaker than them. Those males are NOT men!!! They should have a pitbull go for their gonads and tear them off and then their bodies be tossed in a field with coyotes and they can finish eating them and that they bleed to death. Then run over them with an S.U.V. and then when the vultures eat them they will puke. I love animals and this was a pet of someone. I respect life, you sound like you don't, hope I'm wrong. If not a canibal should eat you with a little Open Pit Sauce.

Check out her posts on two threads, Sarah Brady gun criminal and on Learn the Facts about Hunting
She's a narrow-minded, hairy-armpitted PETAphile that refuses to recognize that a very, very, very minute group of individuals break game laws; rather she labels anyone who hunts; teaches their children to hunt and/or enjoys the taste of wild game as "drunks"; "criminals"; "sick"; etc...
I'd bet if you asked, Surfin would tell you he thinks, as do I, these two schmucks should be put in a cage with about 20 hungry cats and strung up by their balls, having had them dipped in catnip...

You meen like the guy in the movie " Midnight Express" He couldn't have looked more guilty.
In todays world, the guy is getting on the plane while Grandma has her panties down to her knees grabbing her ankles while the Federalista's check for paraphanelia. Lest we be accused of profiling!

If someone likes cats for dinner I got no problem with it (so long as the are ethical hunters, feral cats only, clean death). They are just another wild creature (food potential).
Training an dog to be vicisous however is wrong.

Surfin; I posted this while you were posting that you like animals. I know what I said was bad, but those guys don't deserve to get off lightly. Anyone that hurts animals on purpose seem to just be slapped on the wrist and the authorities say it with a wink, wink. I know I should love their soul's as the Father commands, I am really upset. Sorry.

I noticed that as well. They described the car, the dog, the dead cat, but not the suspects.
FWIW, I also know that pit bulls are the "in style" dog to have for all the gang-bangers and thugs. At least they are in Denver (where they are also illegal).

I have a cat that was feral as a kitten and I tamed him. I love him and he is good. Feral cats come from irresposible people. It's not the animals fault.

Watch the video clip.
It's not completely clear but the appear Mexican. I live in Sacto and that corresponds with the neighborhood (though it is mixed).
It's also close to the best hole in the wall burrito joint in town (hmmmm?, no can't be).

....I don't understand how anyone cannot say that these SOB's do not deserve to have their arms and legs chopped offSo let me ask:
In your opinion, are they wrong to even have the desire, intent or say that they want the arms and legs of an animal copped off?
if so, then what sets you and them apart?
Just curious.

And what many people don't understand is that those that harm humans usually start with animals.
And if they were the owners of the cat, the Libertarian Party would charge them with littering. "Hey, if you don't like the sport, then don't watch! You do your own thang and it's all nobody's bidness!"

He's my 17 lb house lion. He is sitting on my feet waiting for me to finish with FR for the evening. He usually wakes me up by 'washing' my hair in the morning. Goofy cat buddies...

Hunting deer bad
Maiming humans for punishment good
Is that what you're saying here, Sungirl?
