Groups Seek To Oust McKinney From Committees
CNSNEWS.com ^ | 4/23/03 | Jeff Johnson

Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) - A black conservative group is calling for the removal of Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) from the House Armed Services and International Relations Committees for allegedly having ties to terrorists or terrorist allies.

"Dick Gephardt should remove her from those committees and launch an investigation into her donors," said Kevin Martin, director of government affairs for the African-American Republican Leadership Council (AARLC).

In a statement issued Monday, the group challenged McKinney because she has allegedly "refused to disavow support of known terrorist supporters including Hezbollah and Hamas protagonist Abdurahman Alamoudi."

As CNSNews.com previously reported, McKinney received $1000 from Alamoudi, the founder and former executive director of the American Muslim Council.

"I have been labeled by the media in New York as being a supporter of Hamas. Anybody supporters of Hamas here?" Alamoudi asked, to cheers from the crowd at an October 2000 White House protest of U.S. policies in the Middle East.

"Hear that, Bill Clinton? We are all supporters of Hamas ... I wish they added that I am also a supporter of Hezbollah," he added.

Both Hezbollah and Hamas are on the State Department's official list of terrorist organizations.

Alamoudi's contribution is one of 45 McKinney received during the 1999-2000 election cycle that did not list the occupation of the donor as required by the FEC. Those donations totaled $24,000 and included contributions from other groups and individuals that have made statements considered supportive of terrorist organizations.

"Given the sensitive nature of the committees on which [McKinney] sits, the American people would be better served and rest easier at night reassured that [information from] the briefings this congresswoman might be privy to, does not end up in the wrong hands," the group's statement continued.

The AARLC is calling for a House Ethics Committee investigation into whether McKinney has "compromised her committees' assignments, is a friend of terrorists, has accepted funds from terrorists, aids and abets terrorists, committed treason in her oath to defend and protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic."

Martin says AARLC is also asking Rep. Eddie Bernie Johnson (D-Texas), chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, to suspend McKinney from that group.

The AARLC is the second group to formally request a congressional ethics probe into McKinney's conduct. The first was requested by the Southeastern Legal Foundation April 12. That request, made to the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct, also concerned contributions McKinney has received from alleged terrorist supporters.

SLF also sent a letter to House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt (D-Mo.) Monday requesting McKinney's removal from the two committees that receive intelligence briefings concerning the war on terrorism.

"The factual evidence is clear: McKinney has taken money from some very dangerous people who have publicly supported terrorist organizations," said Phil Kent, president of SLF.

"Congress must not tolerate the appearance of impropriety at a time when America is engaged in the war on terrorism. The stakes are too high, and she has too much access to classified information, to take this lightly," Kent said.

The letter argues that removing McKinney from the two committees is the "prudent course of action" until an investigation can be completed.

Multiple calls to McKinney's office requesting comment on this story were not returned prior to publication.

A big "Thank You" from a Missourian. Removing the deceased Mel Carnahan from the U.S. Senate will not be an easy task.I pray Jim Talent is the man to do just that. Appreciate your help in this effort.

God Bless

Sad to say to you she is in a pretty safe district because daddy help her get the seat because he is a insider down there. She has broken state campaign laws but they will not touch it because she will then scream racism.

I don't believe we get Boortz in the Detroit area. I haven't been able to locate him.

You can get Boortz on the web at Boortz.
That's how I have to get him here in the NYC market.

Now that they're through with Traficant, it's time for the F.B.I. to investigate McKinney.

Her district was carved (85 - 90% black) to ensure that a black person is virtually guaranteed to get the seat no matter what she says or does.

Is Bush doing "treasonous" things? Some say yes!

Get off of it! You know better than that. Apparently you don't know a great man when you see one. Treasonous? If so, I would love to have more traitors like George W. Bush.

All three of them have been covering this, and it has to have some effect.

I have always wondered what that "20 million listeners" that is attributed to Rush really means, and a week or so ago, Rush mentioned that "at this particular time ( 2:00 ) we have about 3 million people who are hearing this broadcast...."
I would guess other hosts have figures in proportion to that- if they claim "5 million listeners" the actual number tuning in for a particular show is about a sixth of that.

Sweet Baby Jesus, That picture can't be real. She looks like one of those Fembots from the 70's. The dead eyes of a doll, with the insane look of Ahab. Jesus Christ, nobody thought to look at this woman's face and decide, is this woman sane? YOu can tell just by looking at her, she's nuts.

You might consider relaxing a bit.

When they have minutes or hours of images of you, collected at 29.94 frames per second, there will be some that show you looking stupid or even evil, to some observer.

Of course, this does't mean that she isn't either or both.

Heads up: Boortz just said on his radio show that now that McKinney is taking heat for her President Bush comments, she's playing the race card - which she always does. He played a tape of her saying "Ever since I've been in Congress, people have been telling me to sit down and shut up. Black people know about being told to sit down and shut up". Boortz says he knew it would happen - she would play the race card.

Also, I either read or heard somewhere that if you think she's bad - her father is worse. He's a local politican and once pulled a knife on a collegue in chambers because he objected to a bill presented by McKinney's father!! Nice family!!
