After being held in queue for a while the issue is analyzed in depth in the second half of the piece, Slouching Toward Servitude here:

The liberals and the Libertarians sure hated Proposition 187.

THIS Proposition 187?

In November 1994, Californians passed an initiative, Proposition 187, cutting off some health and social services, including access to public education to illegal aliens and their children.

If that's the Proposition 187 you're talking about, I defy you to provide evidence that Libertarians "hated" that Proposition.

Hmmmmm...never mind, I found it myself (my apology for not looking harder).

I found a California Libertarian Party website that said this:

While Libertarians oppose government social services for everyone, including illegal immigrants, we don't believe in singling out one group of people for exclusion. This blatently racist measure would force employers, doctors, police officers and others to run people over to be deported. It would establish a "tamper-proof" identity card that would invade our privacy.

In my opinion, there are good points on both sides of this issue. I don't see how the measure is "blatantly racist," however. Unless it specifically deals with only one race of illegal immigrants.

No problem with trading food goods or manufactured products, the problem is I do not see any benefit to America whatsoever in our trading our national financial security for illegal aliens. If Mexicans or any other nationality want to come to America the number one rule is obey our laws! That means use the Immigration Service procedures to come into America, not swim across the Rio Grande and sneak in thinking American citizens should pay your medical bills, give you housing and free education and allow you to take jobs away from legal aliens.

It has already "quietly" gone farther then that.

It's my understanding that many U.S. States have already changed their Constitutions so that borders are no longer defined. Sorry I don't have numbers maybe someone else can expand on it.

Another thing to watch for is corporations saying that conducting work across borders is too costly. The steel corporations in Europe did that to eliminate borders.

I'm sure loss of jobs or costs of services will be the tool used.

Let's see if I want to work, I have to go along. If I want to remain Free I won't be allowed to work.

America, land of the economic slaves since 1913.

Will we be able to make the sacrifices for our families, that others have made before us? Or has anyone ever really sacrificed anything for the betterment of the working class?

When You give up your life taking someone elses life and all that happens is the corporations and banksters get another stronghold, with puppet governments and slave labor, did it really have anything to do with Freedom or America.......

The Libertarian Party voted to oppose Proposition 187. You didn't know that?

We're on the same page. But instead of moving all the American factories to China, why don't we simply move them to Mexico?

My comment on your post is if "all the American factories" are moved to Mexico, what are the Americans going to do for employment?

Every single thing you pick up in the stores today is made in a foreign country, while our unemployment rates keep climbing.

The amazing thing about the American economy is that we are constantly expanding and developing as we produced new products such as Windows in the 90's.

Certainly we do not need outdated jobs if they can be done cheaper elsewhere.

It's globalization. If you don't like it here, you can move to stagnant Europe.

"What in the hell does it take to get them to look INSIDE our own borders......at Washington?"

Unfortunately it took the startling terrorism of 9/11 for some Americans to answer the bell, but Americans are ordinarily like lobsters slowly boiling...

Most do not realize our rights and sovereignty are in the process of deteriorating before our very eyes -- we can only hope they don't wait for Rod Serling to drift in front of the camera to punctuate our entry into -- The Twilight Zone.

I wonder how long it will take for American soil to have more illegal aliens on it than citizens?
