Outstanding view of a nesting American Eagle
American Eagle TV ^ | 4-24-02

Posted on 04/25/2002 12:55:24 PM PDT by afraidfortherepublic

Ther is the greatest site available on the Web. A Web Cam is aimed right at a nesting American "Bald" Eagle near Minoqua, Wisconsin. You may have seen part of this on Fox and Friends on the Fox News Channel this morning. Go Here to watch the show. Or copy and paste americaneagletv.com into your browser.

The eaglets are due to hatch May 1, and the Web cam will be focused on the parents and the nest until the chicks are grown and have flown away. You need Real Player, which you can download from the site. It also helps to have a fast connection.

There is audio with the picture, so I have been running this behind my other work. Every once in a while I hear a little squawk, and I pop the picture forward and find that the nesting eagle is turning the egg or repositioning herself in the nest. Just a little while ago, her mate flew in with food for her. Both birds remained in the nest for about 5 minutes, and then the hunter flew away in his search for more food.

This should get quite exciting next week, so I hope a lot of people take advantage of this opportunity to watch our great American symbol raise a nest of little ones!

Enjoy!

OK, just lord it over all of us who can't live in VA. I thought that there might be just ONE thing we have in WI besides high taxes and socialist politicians! I'll bet your VA eagles don't have a Web Cam in their nests, however! ;^)

no that doesn't apply to Wisconsin, that applies specifically to Steven's Point. It could be worse. In Platteville where the "Women are men and the sheep are scared."

The Wisconsin state motto is “EAT CHEES OR DIE”

If you want to get familiar, leave some panfish on the surface behind your craft everytime you fish. You won't believe the speed they manage when they grab the dead fish off the surface ... especially if human beings are close. Unbelievable flying prowess for that big of a bird.

OK, you are going into the smack talk scheduling with that MudboySlim character two weeks before gametime!

I really support what Snyder did in the offseason ... he needs a playoff run this year. The Skins have been the most disappointing team in the NFL the last three years. High profile too.

Trotter is a monster. He is REALLY REALLY good. But ... your QB!!!! I can't talk, my Pack QB threw an economical six interceptions in his last game!!!

Ooops, looking at previous patter ... he's getting his fourth MVP.

Football is great. Betting bonanza.

If you bet the top Ten ranked college teams, when favorites at home the first two games ... you'll retire a rich man.

Florida and 40 over Bowling Green? Yessir!

Nebraska and 42 over Central Missouri? Yessir!

Oregon and 31 over Sacrmento State? Thank you Sir! May I have another!

Seriously, it's when all that vile gambling proceed goes to escort service.

Thank you so much. About a year ago I got an Eagle nest site from Free Republic. I watched it until the eaglets got big enough to fly away. The site ended when one of the eagles found the camera and knocked it out of the tree.

The male eagle just came back to the nest! Be sure to leave your speakers on and keep this picture running behind your other work. The eagles will alert you when someting is happening. Mama just turned the eggs (there are two), called with little chirping sounds, and papa came back with food and flew away. She'll be quiet for a little while, but the sounds will warn you when something is about to happen, so you don't just have to stare at this all day!

Bump! I love those eagles swooping down through the cows out here at ~200MPH to grab dinner. They're almost as big as the cows with the wingspan.

Ah, yes. The unmentionables! I'm going to see the Governor on Sunday, and I'll make a point to thank him for trying to reduce those taxes -- not that it will do any good while we have Chvla in the legislature.

I was talking to a farmer at lunch today who is missing a calf born last night. Neither he, nor the cow, can find it anywhere this morning. Do you suppose...????

Not to brag, but we live in the country near a river and have eagles fly over our house all the time. We're surrounded by open farmland and frequently we see eagles soaring over the fields in their "brunch" mode.

They are a magnificent animal.

LOL! They were grabbing the rats eating the grain, they even made an attempt at one of my hens once. A calf is a bit too big. Coyotes hang around pregnant cows, waiting until it's time and the cow is down. If the calf was separated, they might of taken it off to feast on it elsewhere.

That was my first thought. The coyotes have come back big time in southeastern WI. The farmer said "no", but I think he'll find out diferrently.
