I contend that the hitter should be allowed to keep the bat. He is outnumbered, it only seems fair.

The funny thing is that Health Shuler is a Congressman now. Not surprised that he’s a democrat though.

Chris Washburn - Went to NC State with a 500 SAT score

That soured me on NC State when I found that out. And I'm in Raleigh.
You 400 for signing your name.

Designated hitter. Horrible idea.

Curt Flood will rot in Hell for his lawsuit. Well, maybe not, but I think it was bad for all of the rest of us.

John Henry and what he has done to Fenway Park is (should be) a national disgrace.

This is not the Boston Red Sox team that I grew up with.

If struggling cities such as detroit and pittsburgh are paying new stadiums in order to keep some of their declining population, then let them. Give young people a reason to live in those cities in the Rust Belt.

Designated Hitter and plastic grass are two of my most-hated ideas, but the number one worst idea was....

Selling the Detroit Lions to the Ford family.

Actually I liked the "Disco Sucks" night at Comiskey Park. That was a riot.

One of the players involved agrees with you.

Goose Gossage was the scheduled starter in the nightcap. He was warming up in the bullpen when the fans started coming out of the bleachers onto the field.

A lot of them went through the bullpen. Goose told me he was ripping 100 mph fastballs when, suddenly, his catcher got knocked ass over teakettle.

He got the ball back and was winding up again...when he saw a fan with a make-believe bat standing in a make-believe batter's box. Goose did a double-take...then nailed him in the ribs with a batting practice fastball.

According to Goose, everybody very nearly fell down laughing...

He didn't miss making the start in the second game. It was too good a show to miss.

So what’s with the “streamlined” looks on baseball and football helmets these days? Are they meant to be aerodynamic? Does wind resistance matter at 13 mph?

You must be a masochist.

Watching pitchers try to bat sets my teeth on edge.

The invention of the dome is a terrible idea. No outdoor football in detroit or minneapolis.
