Five Israelis Killed in Hebron In A Palestinian Resistance Operation (Send this to the UN!)

HEBRON, April 27 (News Agencies) - Five Israelis were killed and at least six others wounded Saturday as Palestinian gunmen went house to house in a killing spree in a West Bank Jewish settlement, the Israeli army and witnesses said, news agencies reported.

This attack comes after nearly 14 Palestinians were killed during the last 48 hours by Israeli occupation forces in the West bank, including an leading activist of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

The Israeli attack was apparently carried out by two gunmen in the settlement of Adora northwest of the city of Hebron. One of the injured was said to be in serious condition, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).

It was the first deadly Palestinian attack on Israelis since the martyr operation which was carried out near a Jerusalem market on April 12.

Saturday's shootings were also the first successful attack on a Jewish settlement since March 28, when three Israelis were killed in the community of Elon Moreh in the northern West Bank.

Israeli occupation forces rushed to the scene and heavy gunfire was heard for about half an hour before troops conducted a house-to-house search.

Israeli military officials said the gunmen might have escaped into Hebron, eight kilometers (five miles) away.

Ronit Schwartz told Israeli military radio that the army had ordered the 40 families in the Adora settlement to stay indoors until further notice while they searched the area.

Meanwhile, one Palestinian was killed Saturday by Israeli soldiers near the northern Gaza Strip settlement of Dugit, a Palestinian medical source said.

He was identified as a man in his 20s, but his name was not immediately revealed.

He was shot by Israeli troops as he traveled on a road leading to the Jewish settlement, the medical sources said.

Annan: "We, at the Imperial Holy UN, encourage the use of
dynamited-wheelchairs to kill Christians, Jews, and Americans.
We also endorse house-to-house terrorism by Arafat.
We also thank Mr. Arafat for his donated crosses and stunning gold artifacts,
which he sent me. Now before you go away,

Haaretz is reporting that the gunmen were dressed as IDF.

The terrorists are doing exactly what they said they were going to do: attack settlers. It looks like Israel's job to root out terrorists isn't done.

4 killed, 7 hurt as gunmen infiltrate West Bank settlement

Four people, including one child, were killed Saturday after two terrorists infiltrated a West Bank settlement, west of Hebron, close to 9 A.M.

The gunmen opened fire on the residents of Adura, killing the four and wounding 7 others.

The two gunmen entered a house in the settlement and opened fire on a couple asleep inside. They then went into a second house and opened fire on the children and their mother who were inside.

The father, a member of the Hebron police force, was in the synagogue at the time.

The gunmen then went out into the street and began targeting passers-by, although no one was injured at this time.

One person was air-lifted to Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Karem in serious condition.

Magen David Adom's regional head, Dror Richter, told Israel Radio that six people had been taken to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon. Three of those hospitalized are suffering light wounds and three are in moderate condition, including a 14-year-old boy.

Another two children are among the wounded, Israel Radio reported.

A witness at the settlement, Anat Harari, said she saw one attacker wearing what appeared to be an IDF uniform and a flak jacket.

Harari said one of the gunman fired repeatedly at her house, and she fled to the bathroom from where she called her parents on her mobile phone. Her mother, Gila, told Israel Radio: "Our daughter called and said, 'Dad, I hear shots near the house." Then she was wounded.

"We heard firing. Someone was shouting 'terrorists, terrorists,"' said another Adura resident, Ruth Bar Yosef. "They got into one of the houses and shot whoever was there," then moved on to other houses, she said.

Bar Yosef said she took her three sons upstairs. "We are helpless. We don't know what's happening except what we hear on the radio," she said, speaking before it was clear the incident was over.

IDF troops conducted a house-by-house search of the settlement after it was initially suspected that the gunmen were holding hostages in a house.

The IDF later concluded that the gunmen escaped after no trace of them was found in Adura, although soldiers found no tracks or other evidence to indicate the attackers had fled.

The IDF search was later transferred to the nearby village of Tufah.

Brigadier General Amos Ben Avraham, commander of the Hebron region, said that it was still unclear where the gunmen had come from or where they had fled to.

A statement from the Prime Minister's Office said that responsibility for the attack should be placed on Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat and the PA.

Members of the PA security services in Hebron have evacuated all of their buildings in the city, in anticipation of an Israeli response to the attack.

As yet, no group has said that it carried out the attack.

If they ran house to house shooting, does that mean that they are out of C4? Israel should not stop killing them until Pali's are running house to house throwing rocks.

This attack was just outside Hebron, the only substantial West Bank town (pop. 120,000) which the Israelis did not go through house-by-house in their recent "Operation Defensive Shield." You'll probably start hearing that this attack "proves" violence only begets violence, but remember the last sentence.

The reason Israel did not give Hebron the same treatment given the other West Bank cities is that there are incredibly foolhardy or brave, take your pick, Jews somewhat scattered about inside Hebron rather than all being isolated in semi-defensible "settlements." This would complicate doing there what still needs to be done. I'm not saying that a defensive shield type of operation will stop all terror, but it certainly cuts it down to a small proportion of what it would be otherwise.

At least seven people were wounded, including a woman and her children aged 2 and 4, in the attack, which began arond 9 a.m.

Time to move the muslis out.

Until the Israeli government wakes up and does that, Israeli families need to start sleeping in shifts with someone always standing guard in NVGs with a fully loaded rifle.

Or teens at a disco, the elderly at a Seder dinner, an extended family at a Bat Mitzvah, at a coffee shop, shopping at an outdoor market, at a pizza parlor, walking dow the street, riding on a bus...the Palestinian terrorists are mass murderers. I wonder when Colin Powell and the Arabists at the State Dept. is going to GET IT?

From this thread by Diogenesis:

In Adora, Israel - the latest Palestinian atrocity. Palestinians give President Bush the finger.
At the atrocity children were murdered in their bedrooms.
The bloodstained bedroom of Katia and Vladimir Greenberg has Katia's blood where she was killed.

4 Dead & 7 Wounded in Adura Terror Attack
(IsraelNN.com) At about 9:15am this morning, 2 or 3 terrorists dressed in IDF uniforms and wearing flack jackets, cut a hole in the fence of the community of Adura, west of Hevron. The terrorists entered the community and began firing with an M-16 and Kalashnikov [AK-47] rifle, killing four and wounding seven.

The gunmen began firing into windows of homes. The attack began while many of the men, including members of the first-response unit, were in synagogue for Sabbath morning prayers. Although they responded immediately upon hearing the gunfire, they were delayed a bit – having to first head to their homes to take their weapons.

Killed in the attack were Katya Greenberg, 45, Danielle Shefi, 5, and two members of the first response team, Yaakov Katz, 50, and Erik Becker, 20. Seven persons were wounded including Katya's husband Vladimir, who is listed in serious/stable condition in Jerusalem's Hadassah Hospital following several hours of emergency surgery. He was flown to the Jerusalem trauma center by an army helicopter. Natan, their son, was one of three persons wounded moderately in the attack. Shiri Shefi, Danielle's mother, was also wounded along with two of her children. Three persons were moderately wounded and three light, all taken to Barzalai Hospital in Ashkelon.

The terrorists managed to get into two homes, killing Danielle Shefi in her bed and Katrina Greenberg in the second home. The two members of the first response team were killed in the exchange of fire. Another home was riddled with at least 50 bullets but no one was killed or injured.

A large army force responded to the area while other soldiers were called in from weekend leave. During the afternoon hours, soldiers killed one of the terrorists after he opened fire at them in the village of Tufah, east of Adura. The attack lasted for about 15 minutes and the terrorists managed to flee through the same hole in the fence they used to enter.

Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer stated the world needs to see the bedroom of little Danielle, to see what a real massacre looks like. Army Chief of Staff on Saturday afternoon permitted camera crews to enter the homes of the victims to enable them to film the scene and get a first-hand look at the scene of the latest PA terror attack.

I have a solution - get the he11 out of Palestinian land. Remove the illegal settlements now. Lets be honest the Jewish people have a dream of a greater Israel that occupies all of the land now held by the Pal's. That's why they will sacrifice these settlers again and again - they represent a foothold of what is to come and provide a great excuse to continue battling the Pal's when they strike at them as percieved invaders.
