Seattle Freeper Meet Report!
Posted on 04/28/2002 9:06:32 PM PDT by SW6906
Saturday at noon, several of the Washington chapter met for lunch and mini get together at Ivar's on the Seattle waterfront. In attendance were: Holy Scroller & Holy Scroller Daughter, Macbeth, Billthedrill, Publius, Judai, Poised Woman, Libertina and of course myself.
We raised our glasses for our traditional toasts:
To President George Walker Bush, (man, it's a nice change to be able to toast your President!)
To our Godfather, Ronald Reagan,
To our spiritual Godfather, Barry Goldwater, and
To our host, Ivar Haglund (may he keep clam)
A great time was had by all, but by the time I remembered I had a camera, BilltheDrill had to leave, so we took a quick picture:
and then figured out we needed the flash.....You can barely tell, but that's (starting from the left) Judai, BilltheDrill, Poised Woman, Libertina, me, Publius, Macbeth, Holy Scroller and Holy Scroller Daughter.
By the time I figured the flash out and got ready for another picture, BilltheDrill had made his escape and Holy Scroller had left to find a cash machine, so all I got for a semi-quality group photo was Judai, Poised Woman, Libertina, Publius, and Macbeth:
No, Judai didn't just win the lottery, she was trying to figure out the bill when I said "smile!" Here's a better lighted shot of the same group, before they decided to look at the camera:
And lastly, here's a great shot of our gorgeous Libertina (too bad she has her eyes closed!) with Poised Woman getting ready for their picture-taking. I caught them off-guard!:
Well, that's all I can think to write and post, other attendees: please add what I've left off.
TOPICS: Activism/Chapters; US: Washington
Sorry for the quality of the shots, but I wasn't prepared and it was rushed...
My first ever attempt at uploading and publishing pictures! It worked! I'm amazed! Now if I can just remember what I did......

Well, I finally got it done! It was so nice today, I was outside for most it, enjoying the weather. Got my yard cleaned up, lawn mowed, boat cleaned up and ready for the season, and spent some quality time with my family. By the time I figured out how to upload images and get them to appear on this thread, it got to be this late. Sorry for the delay....

Maybe that's why the flash didn't go off the first time. ;o)

Ah, this brings back memories of years past!! No F.B.I. agents this time at Ivar's. eh ? Sorry, couldn't attend; had to work, but I'm still lurking. Best to all. God bless George Bush.
Nope, no FBI spies this time. They know we're not dangerous, except maybe to ourselves.

You mean there's Freepers in Seattle? I'm shocked!
Have a little light! That's the best I could do. When they're that dark it's pretty hard to fix.At least you can see something now.

I wanted to go but no one sent me the info.
Hi - great to see you beautiful Seattle FReepers having a wonderful time. Judai is a natural with that money, she's destined to be a lottery winner soon enough.
Thanks, Musket! Duh, I was so focused on figuring out how to get the pictures posted I forgot that I could edit it to "let there be light!"

Sorry you didn't hear. Libertina had posted it to the Washington page
, and if she has your email address, she sent out an email to all of the chapter members.
Hope to see you next time......

Yes It was a nice afternoon and everyone that wasn't there, was gossiped about viciously- Just kidding.
I just thought I'd add that we did also toast our spiritual Uncle; Charlton Heston. Just an oversite I had to right!

To: SW6906; Psycho Bunny
Great job SW, you did it! Although I'm not quite ready for the giant Hollywood type photos... BTW, is that a bit of clam coming out of my mouth or just shadow? And where is the picture I "approved"???? LOL It was a great time. So much so that I'm going to specifically set aside a time block for "business" during the next one! Hi H. Bunny, I sent notices to all WA FReepers who sent me their addresses and posted twice to our WA Locale page. Just FReepmail me your email address and I'll make certain you're on the list for next time! We want cha!
The pictures are even bigger - I like to take pictures with maximum resolution! I sized them down to make them fit here. Even so, I bet those with dial-up access are struggling....
Here's the only other shot I have of you, but I thought the other one was better. ;o)
I don't recall why you were checking your watch......
posted on 04/29/2002 8:07:59 PM PDT
Chris! Where were you?
posted on 04/29/2002 8:08:32 PM PDT
LOL All I can promise you SW6909 is that you'll pay for continuing to post these gargantuans!
And I also recall your method for taking "perfect" pictures: "1","2", (take photo) "3".
I'm going to assume you were checking your watch to see if I was still coming or not...What time did you all leave? I'm thinking the seats had to still be warm when I got there before 2! I WILL MAKE THE NEXT ONE IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY QUINTUPLE BYPASS!!!
WOW!!!!! Check out these Hotties!!!!!!!
I've been working my A$$ off. My only day off is Sunday for right now.I was thinking I could surprise you guys on Sat afternoon but it did not happen. Miss you guys.
IS LIBERTINA DRINKING A MARTINI??????????????

I should have come by to see you on my way back home.....
No, that's a Vodka Gimlet, and a very well made one at that! I had to have one after seeing Libertina enjoy hers. See you next time.

I left right about 1:55 PM, I think it broke up right after that. Yes, the seats were probably still warm! See you next time....

Oh, no. You aren't leaving before you tell everyone what a "Seattle Steamer" is and why Publius was dancing on the table...
I think I might have walked right by the table then...The snippy little hostess was very vague about where to go to announce myself...Your pictures look like you were against the window where as the reserved table they showed me to was in the Center of the furthest room from the door....I'm a big goateed guy wearing a blue blazer and striped shirt...I walked right up to the table in the center and asked them if they were Freepers...you might not have heard me say it... DANG IT!!! Now I know who to look for...hadn't seen any photo's of PS Chapter when I went...Que Domage...More so since some of you drink martinis!!! Bombay Saphire UP with all the drunken olives the skewer will hold, and DON'T Stop Bringing THEM!!!
