WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush and top members of his administration mingled and shared laughs Saturday with Washington reporters, insiders and some outsiders -- including famed British rocker Ozzy Osbourne -- at this year's White House Correspondents dinner.
Comedian Drew Carey was on hand to provide the entertainment during the more than three-hour event, doing stand-up comedy for the president and more than 1,800 guests, from top White House adviser Karl Rove to hard rocker turned reality show star Ozzy Osbourne.

Having children changes almost everyone, to some degree or another, but Ozzy has not repudiated any of his past - he still basically remains a Barbara Streisand with a despairing, Satanic twist to his act.
To: CWRWinger
I really don't see how you could act as a spokesman and an apologist for O.O. Bingo. Thanks for proving my point. I've no more right to act as a spokesman for Ozzy than you've the right to pass judgement on him based on his appearance.
But tell us, is Osbourne pro-gun and self-defense in England?
Damned if I know, he lives here in the states.
To: agrandis
I was a pretty big Ozzy fan back in the 80's and saw him in concert once. He puts on a good show ("show" being the operative word here) and anyone who's been to one of his concerts knows that he appreciates his fans. I never analyzed his lyrics for political content. You'll get as much political content analyzing a cereal box, for crying out loud.
I'm glad I'm not all political, all the time.
To: Hoosier Patriot
Didn't you see that episode on his show where he and his son found the bayonet that goes on his M-1 rifle that he keeps under the bed? His daughter Kelly walked by while they were putting the bayonet on and she remarked, "You are so f***ing violent!" and Ozzy and Jack said, in unison, "Awwww, shut the f**k up!"
To: DoughtyOne
"He didn't need to slam the guy from the platform, but did he have to address him? Sheesh!"In the middle of a crowd of DC media figures, sits Ozzy.
You think that the normal thing to do would have been ignore the fact that he was there? Sort of like passing gas in an elevator, and everyone pretending it didn't happen?
Of course he had to make a joke about it!
To: agrandis
"...he (Ozzy)
still basically remains a Barbara Streisand..."Oh! I've seen some real nasty insults here in FR, but this one tops them all.
Not even the real Pri(n)ce of Darkness deserves that!
To: SkyPilot,jokemoke
Ozzie has had a special place in my heart, every since China banned Black Sabbath, during the cultural revolution. Mr Sky Pilot sir, are you named for that wonderful, Eric Burdon & the Animals, song by the same title.
To: BunnySlippers
I think they should keep morons like Ozzy Osbourne and his stupid family at home and not take them to DC.
To: Hoosier Patriot
"Thanks for proving my point. I've no more right to act as a spokesman for Ozzy than you've the right to pass judgement on him based on his appearance."
You're right about your not having a right to being Ozzie Ork's spokesman, you're wrong about me not having a moral obligation and right to judge this vulgar, profane creep.
I suppose you are part of the 'thought police'?
Okay, O.O.'s a british rocker who lives in the USA, where does he stand on gun control and the Second Ammendment?
To: FITZ
Evil can come in all forms and all dresses, you are correct on that. Satan himself is an 'angel of light'.
But these things I do know about Ozzie Ork, he's profane, he's vulgar, his noise (what he markets as 'music') is that of cultural barbarians and he adds a satanic twist to his act.
I know of no good person who would do the above. Ozzie presents this image to make money and destroy that which made this country great. He is as much of a cultural barbarian as illegal aliens.
To: Ligeia
I'm not sure that describing him as a "dirt bag" is accurate for this stage of his life. In my book, his present language, his psuedo 'music', his dress and inclusion of satanism in his act qualify for the 'dirt bag' designation. I can only guess his politics are the same as Klintoon.
Why give credibility to someone who obviously has some serious character flaws?
To: Trust but Verify
It's tongue-in-cheek for those unable to grasp nuances. Anyone who knows about Ozzie knows it is an ACT,. You know, like WWF.
So the WWF is now the new standard of everything in show business? LOL!! By which everything else is judged? LOL!!
Ozzie Ork needs to clean up his 'act'.
To: MaggieMay
Mr Sky Pilot sir, are you named for that wonderful, Eric Burdon & the Animals, song by the same title. No Maggie, that is what I chose as a screen name because I fly--but I love Your Song
To: agrandis
What is it you like about Ozzy? The fact that he's not as uptight and judgemental as some of the posters on this thread.
To: CWRWinger
. I can only guess his politics are the same as Klintoon. He's not even close to being as evil as either of the Clintons or Carvilles, or all the others. Even if he's evil it just doesn't reach their level.

Okay, O.O.'s a british rocker who lives in the USA, where does he stand on gun control and the Second Ammendment? He must be for guns----in one of his first shows when they were unpacking, he was looking for his gun. He and his son were on the stairs looking at the gun when Kelly came by and made an anti-gun comment and they told her to get out.

Not sure of your age there, CW, but the first time you saw a picture of Ozzy Osbourne was this morning? I've known about him for years. He's been a platinum selling recording artist since 1968.
Say what you will about his fashion sense, but his longevity in a competitive business like the professional rock and roll touring circuit is almost unprecedented. Why is this? His brand of rythmic heavy rock and roll laced with a campy satirical lyrical flair is some of the most energetic and influential of its genre. In fact, most credit Black Sabbath with creating the heavy metal sound.
This is a man who grew up in post-war Aston in Birmingham England and has essentially made it on his own. He recently joined the USO tour performing for our troops, and personallly visited several fire stations in New York to offer support.
He is a first rate rock musician who sang some of rock and roll's most timeless standards. As such, his recognition among DC's elite press and politicoes is frankly well-deserved.

Ozzie Ork needs to clean up his 'act'.
Yes, so people like you will 'like' him.
To: CWRWinger
Yes everyone who dresses in black *must* must be a satanist. Have you ever read his lyrics or doesn't your pastor allow you to think and find out things on your own?
To: CWRWinger
Your posts prove you to be an absolute idiot. Ozzy is pro 2nd Amendment and pro Bush. Why don't you do some research, you freaking assclown.
To: agrandis
Once again, have you ever read any of Osbourne'e lyrics, or are you just repeating what Benny Hinn told you?
To: Trust but Verify, rambo316
I'm sure you haven't seen it since it's been on TV post 9/11 and you seem to have stopped living since then. Which is exactly what Osama and his scum al-Qaeda followers want. Good job caving in to the deranged idiots, Rambo.

You'd be shocked at the number of conservatives in this forum that like hard rock music. I'm 33 years old, female, vote Republican, and my "mind of mush" has an IQ of 138. I like Ozzy and Metallica; I also like classical and jazz. You might want to check out if your assumptions are true before you spout off.
To: rambo316
That goes for any entertainer but especially Ozzy. What about Ted Nugent?
To: rambo316
I completely agree with you. Bush made a fool of himself and Dick Cheney.

Are you mad that he was at a dinner party, or that Ozzy was there? Would it have been ok if he was yukking it up with Gordon Lightfoot?Ahhh, I don't want Bush hangin' out with no freakin' CANADIANS now. *grin*

Wow! I'm impressed! You are just as insulting as a DU'er! You must be very proud!
To: BunnySlippers
If you look at the photo I posted in # 3 it starts out by saying "Ozzy Osbourne (R) ... ". I thought "Wow, AP is now identifying celebrities by political party". But instead of the (R) meaning Republican, I'm sure it means that Ozzy is standing to the Right in the photo. :-)I wonder if Ozzy ever got American citizenship or not. If so, it'd be great to see his voter's registration!
To: agrandis
Ozzy is pro-Satan and pro-Allah? You must have some facts to enlighten us...
To: RamsNo1
It's good when we can laugh at ourselves!
To: rambo316
Like I said earlier, our boys are over fighting for our Freedoms and the shrub is partying it up with the likes of Ozzy Osborne and the MTV crowd...*snort* Yeah, the White House Correspondents Dinner guest list is virtually indistinguishable from that of a typical day's taping of TRL. In fact, millions of teenyboppers stayed home last night to just to watch C-SPAN! </sarcasm>
To: buccaneer81
Shouldn't we expect more from our president than to publicly acknowledge Osbourne? We would probably be slamming Clinton for it, so why not Bush? Hasn't he set himself up as a moral leader?

How is respecting Ozzy at a WH press dinner not moral?
To: CWRWinger
"you're wrong about me not having a moral obligation and right to judge this vulgar, profane creep. I suppose you are part of the 'thought police'?"
uh, what's wrong with eating live animals? or let me guess, you're vegan?
no really though, what specific things (not thing) does Ozzy do that you find vulgar? is it his lyrics? which ones? i think lying politicians, news anchors and halleluiah hair TV frauds are way more vulgar and damaging than anything Ozzy's sung.
"Okay, O.O.'s a british rocker who lives in the USA, where does he stand on gun control and the Second Ammendment?"
i think this question has been answered pretty well here by now.

You hated Bush before the dinner, so how is your opinion not affected by that fact?
To: marajade
Don't bother. Rams just likes to bash Bush.
To: RamsNo1
I think Ozzy is a hoot! Bush and Cheney can take a joke. The only one who looked like a fool was snake-head Carville. He wouldn't crack a smile and made obscene remarks. Even Colin Powell was laughing it up. He's a little too liberal for me, but at least he has a sense of humor.

All right, I know they had to invite Helen Thomas, but why in the world did they let her sit at the President's table? Sheesh. They had to, because she's the oldest serving White House "correspondent." Tradition.
To: Betteboop
Of course it's good to laugh at ourselves. Bush does have a great sense of humor but the comment he made about Dick Cheney while showing the WH video was completely embarrassing and humiliating to Cheney. I really couldn't believe Bush was that crude. I'm no prude but we're talking about the leaders of the free world here and their public standing. I thought we'd come to expect more from the presidency than what Clinton did to it.

Thanks for posting this. I'm sorry I missed it. I like alot of different music including some of Ozzys. The thought of him standing on the table blowing kisses to the President makes me laugh.

Kudos to Bush and Osbourne! Ozzy for being there and Bush for being wise enough to acknowledge it.
BTW Rams are No2

You all need to ligthen up. I'm constantly amazed at the things you all complain about Bush doing. It's like you HAVE to find something every single day.

You remind me of James Watt trying to ban the Beach Boys from a DC park concert, saying they draw the bad element, wanting instead Wayne Newton.Reagen said "the hell with that, the Beach Boys are great and the Beach Boys it will be".
