WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush and top members of his administration mingled and shared laughs Saturday with Washington reporters, insiders and some outsiders -- including famed British rocker Ozzy Osbourne -- at this year's White House Correspondents dinner.

Comedian Drew Carey was on hand to provide the entertainment during the more than three-hour event, doing stand-up comedy for the president and more than 1,800 guests, from top White House adviser Karl Rove to hard rocker turned reality show star Ozzy Osbourne.

Having children changes almost everyone, to some degree or another, but Ozzy has not repudiated any of his past - he still basically remains a Barbara Streisand with a despairing, Satanic twist to his act.

I was a pretty big Ozzy fan back in the 80's and saw him in concert once. He puts on a good show ("show" being the operative word here) and anyone who's been to one of his concerts knows that he appreciates his fans. I never analyzed his lyrics for political content. You'll get as much political content analyzing a cereal box, for crying out loud.

I'm glad I'm not all political, all the time.

Evil can come in all forms and all dresses, you are correct on that. Satan himself is an 'angel of light'.
But these things I do know about Ozzie Ork, he's profane, he's vulgar, his noise (what he markets as 'music') is that of cultural barbarians and he adds a satanic twist to his act.

I know of no good person who would do the above. Ozzie presents this image to make money and destroy that which made this country great. He is as much of a cultural barbarian as illegal aliens.

He must be for guns----in one of his first shows when they were unpacking, he was looking for his gun. He and his son were on the stairs looking at the gun when Kelly came by and made an anti-gun comment and they told her to get out.

Not sure of your age there, CW, but the first time you saw a picture of Ozzy Osbourne was this morning? I've known about him for years. He's been a platinum selling recording artist since 1968.

Say what you will about his fashion sense, but his longevity in a competitive business like the professional rock and roll touring circuit is almost unprecedented. Why is this? His brand of rythmic heavy rock and roll laced with a campy satirical lyrical flair is some of the most energetic and influential of its genre. In fact, most credit Black Sabbath with creating the heavy metal sound.

This is a man who grew up in post-war Aston in Birmingham England and has essentially made it on his own. He recently joined the USO tour performing for our troops, and personallly visited several fire stations in New York to offer support.

He is a first rate rock musician who sang some of rock and roll's most timeless standards. As such, his recognition among DC's elite press and politicoes is frankly well-deserved.

If you look at the photo I posted in # 3 it starts out by saying "Ozzy Osbourne (R) ... ". I thought "Wow, AP is now identifying celebrities by political party". But instead of the (R) meaning Republican, I'm sure it means that Ozzy is standing to the Right in the photo. :-)

I wonder if Ozzy ever got American citizenship or not. If so, it'd be great to see his voter's registration!

Of course it's good to laugh at ourselves. Bush does have a great sense of humor but the comment he made about Dick Cheney while showing the WH video was completely embarrassing and humiliating to Cheney. I really couldn't believe Bush was that crude. I'm no prude but we're talking about the leaders of the free world here and their public standing. I thought we'd come to expect more from the presidency than what Clinton did to it.
