Programs to teach tolerance in public schools are actually being used to promote and encourage homosexuality, conservative activists said in a Capitol Hill briefing yesterday.

"Homosexual activists have hijacked our schools," California activist Karen Holgate said at the seminar sponsored by Concerned Women for America (CWA), a Washington-based Christian conservative group. "If we don't take a stand, we're going to lose this battle."

That is so very true that it hurts. In our Constitution and the Bill of Rights we are guarenteed free speech, or at least we were until the liberals took this right away... We need to fight to get it back.

"Mr. Knight cited the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), with a $3.5 million annual budget and more than 1,200 members whose mission, he said, "is to promote homosexuality in the schools under any guise that works.""

Example Offered of Real Homosexual Agenda in America's Schools

"The school board says it’s about harassment, it’s about tolerance. Well, what does GLSEN say?" she asks. "The executive director, Kevin Jennings, says that it is about promoting homosexuality. That’s what he said is his mission. Let me read you his quote. He said, ‘Promoting homosexuality -- we can make it happen. That is our mission from this day forward.’ "

Folger describes the prospects as "frightening." "We had people that went into the GLSEN meetings. And make no mistake, this is not about tolerance in meeting with teachers -- it's about getting to the children," she says. "In fact, it was in that GLSEN meeting, locally held, that they said, 'We need this agreement to get to the children.' "

Governor’s Commission Lies Continually About ‘Safety’ and ‘Suicide’

"Safety
A speech by a homosexual activist in 1995 revealed that he had used "safety" to delude Gov. Weld and the state legislature into adopting the homosexual agenda for the schools of Massachusetts. The speech was titled Winning the Culture War and was given by Kevin Jennings, Executive Director of the "Gay and Lesbian and Straight Teachers’ Network," at the "Human Rights Campaign Fund Leadership Conference" on March 5, 1995.

"If the Radical Right can succeed in portraying us as preying on children, we will lose. Their language ‘promoting homosexuality’ is one example is laced with subtle and not-so-subtle innuendo that we are ‘after their kids.’ We must learn from the abortion struggle, where the clever claiming of the term ‘pro-life’ allowed those who opposed abortion on demand to frame the issue to their advantage, to make sure that we do not allow ourselves to be painted into a corner before the debate even begins.

"In Massachusetts the effective reframing of this issue was the key to the success of the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth. We immediately seized upon the opponent’s calling card safety and explained how homophobia represents a threat to students’ safety by creating a climate where violence, name-calling, health problems, and suicide are common. Titling our report "Making Schools Safe for Gay and Lesbian Youth," we automatically threw our opponents onto the defensive and stole their best line of attack. This framing short-circuited their arguments and left them back-pedaling from day one.

"Finding the effective frame for your community is the key to victory. It must be linked to universal values that everyone in the community has in common.

"In Massachusetts, no one could speak up against our frame and say, ‘Why, yes, I do think students should kill themselves’: this allowed us to set the terms for the debate.

"In Massachusetts, we made creating an environment where youth could speak out our number one priority. We know that, confronted with real-live stories of youth who had suffered from homophobia, our opponents would have to attack people who had been victimized once, which put them in a bully position from which it would be hard to emerge looking good. More importantly, we made sure these youth met with elected officials so that, the next time these officials had to vote on something, there would be a specific face and story attached to the issue. We wanted them to have an actual kid in mind when they had to cast their votes. We won the vote in the Senate 33-7 as a result..."

"Homosexual activists are using the idea of 'safe schools' and 'anti-bullying' campaigns to bring their pro-homosexual message into the schools," Mr. Knight told a standing-room-only crowd at the Rayburn House Office Building."

And homosexual activists are using the idea of 'safe schools' and 'anti-bullying' campaigns to bring their perverted, homosexual filth into the schools.

I agree. Im sorry I am all for "tolerance" BUT there is a line to be drawn. Over the weekend my family went to carowinds a family owned theme park and it was gay pride day and no one warned us. We went in with 7 children ranging from 2yrs old to 13 yrs old and saw over 117 gay couples (we stopped counting at 1170. They were fondling each other, kissing, holding hands, and one even hit on my husband with our kids with him. Had myself and my husband been doing the same behavior we would have been booted from the park. I wont even get into what the water park side had going on since i assume u can imagine. We complained and were told they cannot discriminate. I understand that so then why are they? By allowing homosexuals to display their sexuality openly in front of children, and not even allow kissing by myself and my husband IS in fact discrimination again heterosexuals. Im going to post everywhere about this because I think they should do SOMETHING to protect our kids in a family park. Its ownded by paramount, nickelodeon and sponsered by coke and lays potato chips and makers or m&m. i am gonna write m&m and say i thought it was m&m not s&m.

Thanks for your post. This "reverse descrimination" must be stopped. What a shame about your day with your children. Did you consider demanding a refund for your visit to the park full of anti-family people.
