This is where we are over the verge of losing our liberties. Such as not being able to travel by air because someone has put us on a "no fly" list without our knowledge and for arbitrary reasons beyond our control.

Who is "Peace Action"? Sounds like a left-wing organization.

I can hardly wait for the Oracle based national id card, which if you are out of favor with the powers that be could be electronically deleted. you never existed.

Gee, back in the 60's they all rode in buses, singing "We shall overcome" all the way.
Nobody had to ride in the back.
You'll love it.

I am on the no fly list.
I refuse to fly as long as I have to give up that much liberty.
I would rather walk if it came down to it.

Seems like no one involved with fedgov can get their stories straight!
By reading this, you have just encountered what will become an ordinary occurence with the issue of a national ID card.....in the best of scenarios, there will be a 'sorry sir' and you can proceed, howbeit late, or held indefinitely because no one seems to know what the hell they are doing.

we were taking young people and telling them if you use means that are nonviolent and peaceful, your message will be heard.
maybe tell them the truth, that thier is no guarantee thier message will be heard, There is a right to free speech, but absolutely no promise that anyone will hear you
There have been security-risk lists for decades. In the 70's, I catered my way through college. Twice I was investigated to be allowed to cater specific events--one was for VP Agnew and the other was Queen Elizabeth. When I asked what they checked, I was told subsersive publications and the like. My thought here is that they are now applying this information they've had all along to airplane travel.

Apologize for the FedGov all you want, but this is beginning of strict travel controls just like in the former CCCP.
You might be okay, as a small-city white male, but even you might feel the pinch occasionally.
This has been going on for all of the years that X42 was in office. He's a crook and so are his appointees - Tenat head of the FBI being one of them.
learning how to lobby against U.S. aid for Colombia.
They learn 'em real young, don't they?

So what? These people are not peace activists. They are agent provacatuers
. I would bet that this article is leaving out tons of stuff on the background of these domestic terrorists. I would bet a steak dinner that many of these leftists have cavorted with terrorist organizations like ELF and supported the PLO. Not one of these people claimed they were American when questioned - that should tell you something.
BTW - I don't want to sound accusatory, but you joined FR on "communist" May Day and are posting articles from the ultra left wing Progressive (which is a misnomer because no progress results from their policies - only totalitarianism and genocide).
My friends, you can also get on this list by just "grumping" at a federal security agent at the airport. They have that "I'll fix you" mentality. When all the airports are federalized,, you'll see some really gross violations. There will be fewer reports, of course, because the extreme cases will be covered up as matters of "national security."
We will see federal security agants taped stealing things from passenger pocket books and brief cases, maybe once or twice. After that, all such cases will be hidden and no tapes made public. Passengers who complain will, of course, go on the "no fly" list. In fact, this will be one of the few places that will publish information on abuses.

The saddest part of this story is, far too few people will read into it.
The average Joe, or John Q Public won't be alarmed about this until there are Transit Police running roadblocks at every crossroads of America.
Public Safety and the newly created 'Homeland Security' will be distorted, perverted and corrupted while the real intended targets of those efforts will be missed by a long shot!
Sort of like our 22 thousand plus gun laws, and our tax code...

I beleive that I am on some sort of watch list. EVERY time I have flown since 911, I have been pulled out of line for "additional screening". I firmly believe that it is because of my acquaintance with several conservative organizatiosn that have been critical of the government.
Here we were, going out to lobby, to use our democratic rights,...
What are democratic Rights?
