Thanks for the ping.

Thanks for the ping Summer. I'm happy to hear that Jeb is taking action. Seems he's damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. I believe he's moving quickly to protect the children. Good for him.

,,, at the end of the day, he'll be slammed for not taking action. He's smart enough to know what to do and he's done it. Send him down here when he's got FL running right; we've got a long list of things in need of fine tuning.

Thanks for your posts. I wish this was the info getting out more. The media is slamming him without mentioning anything he is doing or has in fact done.

,,, maybe it's time for him to engage a kick-arse publicist or a more aggressive press secretary.

I agree with you on that. He needs someone to be OUT there on tv, etc., giving all these facts. (No, I am not avilable for the job, but I do hope he gets the type of person you specified.)

Thanks for the bump. Good move on Bushes part, both politically, and in the all important area of the safety of the kids in the system.
It has just occured to me........they may turn up some other irregularities. This is not without some political risk. Good move nontheless.
To: Hoosier Patriot
The problem is a child has turned up missing. The child missing isn't the issue, The child missing from an agency that he campaigned to fix and didn't in three years is the issue.
Dems will use it as a broken promise that caused a child to come up missing due to his incompetence as Governor.
It doesn't matter that this agency was in total disorder when he took office, it happened on his watch because of a problem he didn't fix as promised and sad to say, it is just what the Dems need to make him look bad.
Kids, schools and Social Sexurity are all that concern Florida voters so this does present a problem for him if the Dems push it hard enough.

My thought too - and, better his order discover other irregularities. Reno is demanding an "investigator" to "watch" Bush and accusing him that such irregularities exist, without knowing any sources or facts; Gov Bush is attempting to discern the facts. I have to give him credit here.

See my post #17, as he did do a lot to fix it. He did not break his campaign promise at all.

Were it not for the fact a child is missing, I would be vastly amused by the contrast here between Reno's"I take full responcibillity" for the murders at Waco, and Bush, who actually orders something which may be politically detrimental to himself,to find out just how big the DCF pencil whipping problem is.
Of cource, only an idiot or a Liberal, would try to portray the Governor of Florida as so omniscient, that he knows or should have known, when a low ranking social worker is falsifying records, before they get caught, when there are at least 7 layers of Democrat induced bureurcracy between the two.
sigh.Think people, think.
I dont know how many people on this forum have ever actually come close to Florida's or any states, social service agencys,in much the same way as most normal people dont know very many people and/or have not personnally spent time in prison.DCF is a nightmare, and has been for many years. But this society had to send the liberal arts degree holders somewhere....
Based on the stench of "the rest of the story" action coming to light bit by bit, this is one of those ugly political grasping at straws issues used by a certain political party to whip up indignation from the reality lite crowd.

Re your post #26 - Or, maybe he should get Lt Gov Frank Brogan out there more often, because Brogan is:
(1) a high level state official, and as such, has more knowledge and gravitas than a PR person;
(2) genuinely cares about kids too, as he is a former teacher; and
(3) many FL voters do not see enough of Brogan to know the above fact #2 about him.
I understand that Gov Bush can not be everywhere at every moment, but Lt Gov Brogan was Jeb's legislative liason, and maybe now it is time for him to be the media liason.
That is my suggestion.
