May 13, 2002 -- JERUSALEM - Bibi Netanyahu, gunning for his old job as Israeli prime minister, last night launched a mini-coup against current chief Ariel Sharon - and won.

Netanyahu mounted the damaging challenge against Sharon at the central committee of the pair's ruling Likud Party, demanding that it vote against Sharon's call for a Palestinian state.

BiBi, does this mean that the international community can stop giving Israel money? You want to be independate, great, as an American taxpayer, I pray you do. Also special tax deductions for Israel should go by by. But that is not what you really want, is it? You not only want the aid, you want more. That`s what you said before Congress. Israel , by defying the American President , deserves more of our $$

He also called the vote "a real slap in the face" of President Bush, who has backed the idea of a Palestinian state.

Goooooood!!

Time for the petty politicians to get brushed into the wings and make way for Netanyahu: a real statesman.

Remember Israel, think happy thought the next time a CIA trained Pali terrorist shoots up a birthday party with a US made and supplied M-16.

Where do you people find this dribble?

Of course, killing Israelis after the Powell Terrorism Tours,
is NOT a slap in the face to President Bush, say the Palestinians.

STIMULUS:

RESPONSE - THE POWELL TERRORIST APPEASEMENT TOUR:

Saudi Minister: "Constantinople."

The CIA did in fact train the Pali "police" including a number of them as snipers. The idea being that they would fight terrorism. Instead the police became the terrorists.

However, the US did not supply the Pali police force with rifles. That in fact was, believe it or not, done by the Israeli's themselves as a requirement of the Oslo accords.

Israel will now see support from mainstream Americans ebb.

I doubt it.

However, should "mainstream Americans" actually be stupid enough to give terrorists another state from which to launch their attacks, then they should cease their whinings about any more potential 9/11 events at that very moment.

I doubt it, too, especially since there is another entirely different spin to the Likud vote: that it's not a slap at Sharon, but a warning to Arafat. Namely, negotiate with Sharon now and get a decent deal for peace. Or deal with Netanyahu and watch your chances at a Palestinian state go down the drain. To my mind that vote was a great idea. It gives the Palestinians a choice. What they do with it is up to them, and they can darn well live with the consequences of their actions.

If you are measuring who deserves our money, Israel certainly deserves it before the 30% we pay to the daily welfare of Palestinian terrorists, not counting what we pay the PA, a terrorist organization, in foreign aid. Just because Israel doesn't agree with this particular President so what?

Bush may consider himself El Presidente of the entire Amerikan continent, but he is not world dictator yet. The congress, senate, and a majority of American citizens are solidly supportive of Israel. Israel doesn't have to heel like a dog on a leash to Bush.

It is Bush, out of the blue, that does startlingly weird and shocking things. After the worst attack against American citizens, Bush, not being content just to pander to illegal invaders, liberals, welfare for immigrants, and "moderate" heads of terrorist charity fronts, comes out of the blue with, "I think there should be a Palestinian State". Whose side is he on?

Israel is sane and just trying to survive our ribald and ever changing foreign policy. The fact is if Israel granted the terrorist thugs the land that the U.N. ripped off from Israel it would vanish in less than a year. Naw, they don't have to listen to Bush, they will still be around long after he is back in Crawford counting catus.

I don't know who you are, but all that sounds exactly like the the "palestinian" playbook.
The mistaken arab assumption is that most of us resent the aid going to Israel.
Most of the people I know, and myself certainly, do not in any way resent aid to Israel. I would like to increase it.

And there are no conditions; Israel should destroy the vermin any way it can.
