Documents read to Fox News indicate that both driver and passenger were Israeli nationals. Investigators say a roadside check of the national database of immigration records indicated that one of the men had not entered the country legally, and the other was in violation of his visa. Both men were taken into custody for immigration violations.

Is a Palestinian "an Israeli National?"

Strange....I though the spot checks on 80 year old white women would have stopped this by now.

Authorities say records for the Ryder truck do not indicate any recent rental for the purposes of transporting explosives, which would require special permits. Yeah, right.

Fox News has learned that a Ryder truck was pulled over in Oak Harbor, Washington last Tuesday near the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station and found to have traces of TNT on the gear shift and traces of RDX plastic explosive on the steering wheel. Gee, traces of TNT on the gear shift and traces of RDX on the steering wheel.
Sounds kinda weird ;).

Traces? That would mean that any actual explosives have already been delivered, or are still somewhere waiting to be used.

This was about 10 years ago, and things may have changed since then, but I had a couple of friends in college that were Christian Arabs from Gaza, and I think they
may have had Israeli passports. Don't quote me on it or anything, but it may be that Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank travel on Israeli passports. I don't know how that stuff works, or if things have changed since Palestinians now have some sort of autonomy. I don't know if that extends to the issuance of passports or not.
Or these two "truck drivers" could be Jewish Israelis...it might not be the first thought to occur to anybody, but it's certainly not beyond the realm of possibility.

I know someone who knows someone who works at the Bremerton Shipyards in Puget Sound where the nuclear subs are kept. He told me that a bomb was found under a dock recently. It was the type of bomb that had to be detonated by remote control. Never heard a peep on the news about this.

What a load of hooey
Shortly after midnight on May 7
happened over a week ago
near Whidley Naval Station
doesn't fit the pattern, almost impossible to blow up a military base at this time and why with so many juicy civilian targets?
Israeli nationals
ambiguous ID, first 10 post on this list try to clarify that statement
found traces of explosives on the steering wheel and gear shift
but not anywhere else? So the Israeli national handled the explosives,or maybe one of the ten previous renters, seems like testing his clothing would clarify the situation, which is pretty easy SINCE HE IS IN CUSTODY
can you say? Fostering hysteria?

I grew up in Oak Harbor. 18 years then moved down here to "God's Country". Used to be pretty easy to get on to the base.

Interesting. I was stationed at "The Rock" for 3 years back in the 80's, it was and still is an Electronic Countermeasures squadrons and attack aircraft squadron base. Since it is a Navy base, it is an attractive target but I just can't see anything (normally unguarded) worth blowing up. Maybe the Deception Pass bridge, as it is the only road route on and off the island.
I would say a ferry (they have some really big ones there, 300+ vehicles) would be a juicy target. Just drive the truck on and then detonate the bomb in the middle of the passage.

a Ryder truck Now if they just took advantage of the preference for their brand of rental, you'd see the ads: "You'll get a bang out of Ryder!"
(Okay, maybe not such a good idea -- but it was slightly amusing that a year to the day after OKC somebody parked his Ryder rental next to the federal building in Seattle to go get a doughnut and caused quite of bit of consternation.)

1. I hope we actually find the bomb.. or bomb making material.. 2.. these guys had RDX.. as I recall It's pretty nasty and certainly not as easily gotten as making a fertlizer bomb. 3. It's not going to be long before our luck runs out.
