Is there gender bias in American schools? Evidence is growing that the answer is yes. But if you think it's girls who are suffering, you're wrong. Today, boys are on the short end of the academic stick, and their performance gap with girls is both startling and alarming.

Instructional changes like these appear to have hurt boys. Boys tend to be less mature, more impulsive and more easily bored than girls. As a result, they benefit from structured lessons, clear expectations and strict deadlines. Does anyone know what the statistics are on Ritalin prescriptions for ADA. Based on the above paragraph, I bet that boys are drugged (I mean treated) far more frequently than girls. And how would this affect their education?

All of this is contained with Christina Hoff Sommers book The War Against Boys. If anyone has a son, they should read this book. Please be prepared to be disgusted with what the ultra-liberal-feminazis have purposefully constructed to tear males down.

Good point. Now back in the new stone age when I was in school if you acted up sister would wack you upside the head and tell you if you didn't behave she'd tell your parents (note: this was a BAD THING). No drugs were needed just an awareness of where the boundry line were and a willingness to enforce them.

The article only refers to grades, which are totally subjective. Boys easily outscore girls in the non-subjective tests...IQ and SAT. Libs are trying to rewrite and turn the SAT into an essay a test to change this.

Schools are now all female, designed for and by females. They're now attacking competitive sports. Anything to drive the boys down. I used to oppose them, now I support separate sex schools.
