Why does it not surprise me that libertarians are "fascinated" by the profit potential of legalized international trade in drug addiction?

My first memories of Coke, comes from teen-age days in Montgomery, Alabama around 1955, 6 and 7. It was a superb drink and a six or eight ounce bottle was perfect. The taste is now gone from the drink, but not from my memory, and I drink Pepsi when I have a soft drink. Taste more to my liking and less like caramel in a can, complete with the can flavor, which is what "coke" tastes like today, IMHO.

Coke is still largely sold in glass bottles in Mexico, although it tastes a little sweeter than the product sold in the USA.

For my money, Jolt! is the way to go.

Not only did it taste good, it also cured aches and pains, primarily that universal malady, the hangover, or, as the Swedes call it, "The pain in the hair roots."

LOL! That about sums it up. A pain in the hair roots. Been there, done that!

I want my cocaine coke! Imagine cocaine and alcohol in one tidy package. Boy, those really were the good old days!

Three Cokes would provide roughly 30 milligrams of cocaine, which compares with the 20 to 30 milligrams normally "snorted" in a day by a contemporary cocaine user

I comment on this article with some degree of trepidation...i'm older and wiser now (hopefully) but I can very safely say that this statement is just factually incorrect. Back in the day, late 70's and early '80's, a gram (1000 milligrams) would be an evening's entertainment for 2 maybe 3 people (in addition to the weed and booze that was also consumed). Thankfully it was never my cup of tea (like i needed artificial stimulants - oh wait, I was a coffee addict), but I certainly knew my fair share of users whilst in college. 20 or 30 milligrams over the course of the day would have about the same effect as a jumbo coffee at 7-11.

Why does it not surprise me that statists of every persuasion are absolutely delighted at the never-ending growth of state power and destruction of liberty that accompanies the ongoing war on certain things that some people ingest?

Yeah, destruction of liberty should be "privatized" because it is much more "efficient" and profitable. </sarcasm>

libertarian = "free trade" for abortionists

If you wanna hang out you've got to take her out; cocaine.
If you wanna get down, down on the ground; cocaine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

If you got bad news, you wanna kick them blues; cocaine.
When your day is done and you wanna run; cocaine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

If your thing is gone and you wanna ride on; cocaine.
Don't forget this fact, you can't get it back; cocaine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine.

She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cocaine

His inventory included alcohol, opium, morphine, cannabis and two ingredients that were being touted in medical journals at the time: caffeine and cocaine.

Wow, all over the counter sales, eh? It must have been wall-to-wall junkies back in the day.

Maybe back in the old days the product was a little less diluted?

Also, I believe the Mexican product still uses cane sugar vice corn syrup. It's much more like the coke of my youth than what's being sold in the U.S.
