We didn't start the fire
it was always burning
Since the world been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tired to fight it
Birth control, Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon back again
Moonshot, Woodstock, Watergate, Punkrock
Begin, Reagan, Palestine, Terror on the airline
Ayatollah's in Iran, Russians in Afghanistan
Sorry a lil Billy Joel sprang to mind for some unknown reason.=o)

You have to admit, the handwritten statement is a very interesting turn of events with this case.

"Does anyone have any comments to some of the article statements?"
Yeah the prosecution is so sure of their case they still, after 2 years there still is no trial set.
They also left off the drugging, threats etc.
Looks like Monaco has paid off court tv.

Thanks for posting this.

All of this time and now Court TV lets the cat out of the bag....no wonder Bush has not touched this.

So, in summary:
Mr. Maher's defense was that there was no criminal intent. Does this mean that he admits lighting the fire, intending to rescue the occupants? In the US, that would be criminally negligent homicide, since it would be reasonably foreseeable that the fire could get out of control.
But, it appears that Monaco's idea of due process doesnt include all the formalities ours does. But due process appears to still be there.
Let Monaco do what they will; this certainly doesnt look like the issue Bush should spend our nation's diplomatic and political capital on. The dude appears guilty.

I believe Monaco as much as I do klintoon.
They have stalled this for over 2 years with no trial.
Drugging, threats etc.
Ask Mrs. Maher she knows the real truth.

Maher's lawyers insist that although the defendant set a fire Dec. 3, 1999, in a wastepaper basket, he had no intention of harming anyone.....Prosecutors say Maher changed his story quickly and confessed that he merely wanted to look like a hero in his wealthy employer's eyes when he set the fire, stabbed himself and cooked up a story about confronting two hooded intruders. I don't blame the family for doing everything they can to try to pull Ted's fat out of the fire. But it appears that Ted, a Monaco billionaire's nurse, is a bona fide whacko who killed two people. You want him set free because some members of his family are allegedly freepers? You want to tell that face to face to the loved ones of the victims?
I think there comes a time to cut bait.

I have posted on the threads as well...I am out of respect for everyone..sitting on the fence.

"The dude appears guilty."
Appears? Where is their proof? Why have they waited over 2 years with no trial?

This guy's confession alone would convict him of criminally negligent homicide!!!

Wasn't there a movie like this? "Endless Love" with Brooke Shields? Some boob lights a fire to be a hero?
Setting a fire is not an "accident." It is a deliberate act. Stabbing yourself is not an "accident." It is weird, stupid, crazy. Imagine being one of the richest persons in the world and being killed accidentally by a boob like this.

Drugged and tortuted for over 2 years "confession."

Also, if you notice what I originally said, we should stay out of Monaco's way and let their criminal justice system do its job.
We certainly dont like it when other countries tell us we cant prosecute people as we see fit.
