The CIA is not allowed to pass info up to the State Dept? Pentagon? The FBI? I understand that this is the case but, in anticipation of writing a letter to the stupid Dallas Morning News, would like to see a reference as to when this was done and who sponsored?
FR researchers -- here's your chance.

Up until John Ashcroft changed the guidelines the FBI was only to investigate domestic crimes and the CIA was to investigate foreign crimes... And now Ashcroft is getting creamed by people like you for it...

No it is not the case. The CIA is supposed to and is required to hand over info to the Justice Dept and the State Dept. But what does it matter, as my article show the FBI passed along nothing either, and they did have authority.
Again I ask, what is it about Bosnian and Chechen and Albanian connections of the 9/11 terrorists that made the FBI and CIA not only not investigate but in the case of the FBI actively sabotage investigations.

And the FBI had specific guidelines as to what they could do with it... It had to meet PC before anything could be developed. Aschroft changed that and is now getting crucified for it.

You might point out that the FBI being constrained from investigating overseas is bullfeathers ----

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The FBI assembled a team of veteran Middle East terrorism investigators Thursday to send to Yemen to investigate the explosion that killed U.S. sailors aboard the USS Cole in a port there. By Our Own Representatatives, We Been Setup
By Our Own Elected Officials, We Been Told 'SHUT-UP'

Okie dokie but not his first year in office like you stated. In other words, you lied.Well, I don't know where you get your news from but I visit about a dozen or so Internet news sites on a daily basis to find out what's going on in the world. GWB has been on the campaign trail since he took office, promising federal subsidies to every special interest group that he believes will generate votes and support for him and other Republicans in the coming elections. He's promised everything from more federal money for education, to presription drugs, to crop subsidies. He didn't just start doing it this year.

They weren't allowed by law to share information amongst themselves either...Since when were they concerned about breaking the law?
To: Alan Chapman
I am not concerned about that. I see a pattern where Muslim men with links to organizations that had agendas that overlapped with aspects of Clinton foreign policies somehow had "get out of jail free" cards.

Excuse me the CIA doesn't "investigate", it is not a law enforcement agency. It collects information and is responsible for sharing such with other government entities. The FBI has gone "global" since the mid-90's.

The point is the FBI doesn't have a global charter they have to obey US law when they do that.

Your definition of campaign trail must mean something completely different than mine. You are a LP and vote LP why do care even if he campaigns or not.

Of course because they must prosecute cases through US attorney's office.
