I don't know...you're talking about a lot of momentum, and a lot of energy released in such an impact. Theoretically I suppose it would be possible. I'll have to ask my roommate (he's a civil engineer).

Do you know the difference between a civil engineer and a mechanical engineer?

The first one builds targets for the second one.

Don't worry, Meyer, no wrong answers here. We all have our opinions about what looks good, that's all. And, yes, I DO look fat in that dress. Love, M

Erecting enormous buildings to replace the Twin Towers limns the distinction between us and the barbarians. We can ride elevators a quarter-mile into the sky and have dinner. What can they do?

Live in caves and make love to their favorite goat?

Right over Mohammed Atta's grave.

I hope before they rebuild a massive skyscraper at the site they prepare the ground first by sprinkling pork rinds over every square inch so the muslim pigs whose powdered remains are still there in time become one with the pork! That will be good for some extra suffering in hell for those evil Saudi ba$tards!!

If there is no business reason for the towers, rebulding them just causes us to waste even more money. To make a statement of defiance, I actually like the idea of a park.

It should low maintenance, simple, and should speak volumes.

Something like a shallow hill covered with grass. At the top of the hill, we could put that black rock that they currently keep in Mecca.

It would give Hillary a place to go to celebrate Ramadan

Sen. Hillary Clinton proposed a school for the site and Sen. Charles Schumer, a park. That'll show 'em!

Tiny minds. Sophistry in action.
I agree 100% with Ann, always was of that opinion.

Memorials are for losers.
And in this case, it would become a shrine for the Muslim Mass Murderers, a permanent symbol of their "success". That is the reality, it would be a lot more useful to them than to us.
Symbolism is big in that loser culture, but I suppose it takes a firm grasp of history and of that peculiar culture to know that.

Build them exactly as before in outward appearance, and list all the victims in the lobby so their names will be remembered always, nothing more.
No mention whatsoever of the loser culture that caused the incident.

General question - am I the only one who scans the Ann Coulter threads for pictures, then goes back and reads the column?

Pardon me while I go back and read the column now.

The proposed plan to build "towers" of 4 to 8 stories infuriates me. They say that the height can be extended later, but I think that's ridiculous. You know that once they build little things like that they will never make them taller.

I want 150 story towers!

Do you look for music in the staccato of machine gun fire?

If they build and enormous edifice to memorialize the dead and especially our national spirit, I will pilgrimage with my children and with my children's children along with millions of others to New York, New York and we will ascend to the top of one of the towers (there should be three) and we will think very high thoughts about sacrifice, courage and liberty. We will praise Almighty God our Defender from that high place and we will spend our money in the thriving metropolis below. I don't even think there will be room for tenents amdist the throng of patriots and worldwide admirers.

Otherwise, we'll scarcely consider, no shun the idea of visiting a castrated national embarrassment of a city, a monument to our malaise and a stub of a mile marker to our decline and fall. Maybe this is what the elites truely want.
