Morocco arrests 3 al Qaeda "planning ship attacks" SKHIRAT, Morocco, June 10 (Reuters) - Morocco has arrested three Saudi members of al Qaeda who had been preparing to carry out "terrorist attacks" on U.S. and British ships in the Straits of Gibraltar, a senior government official said on Monday.
"Morocco's security services have dismantled a network of al Qaeda who planned terrorist attacks on U.S. and British warships crossing the Straits of Gibraltar... It was a successful operation," the official, who declined to be named, told Reuters.
The official said the three men, holding Saudi passports, were arrested in Morocco last month, but he declined to identify them.
The three were being held in custody in Casablanca prior to their interrogation by the prosecutor, the official said.

We need to tell the arabs. If there is another attack on the USA or Americans, than Mecca, Badgad and Teheran will glow in the dark. No if's, ands or buts.

Did you call Savage tonight?
Somebody called but only mentioned Mecca for the 'radiation treatment'. ;-)

Morocco has arrested three Saudi members of al Qaeda. . . Our friends the Saudis.
Well, Mr. John Conyers, what exactly so how do you feel now about Mr. Ashcroft engaging in a system of racial and ethnic profiling because he is requiring Saudis to be fingerprinted before entering this country. After all, the WTC and Pentagon have Saudi fingerprints all over them -- as does this.

Speaking of which, did you notice in the movie A.I. that they call the machines 'mecha' (homonym for Mecca). (1) Did they do this deliberately, and (2) Why did the P.C. police not scream for this to be changed? Of course, that was before Sept. 11. Spielberg has no respect for his own films (changing his movie E.T.), so I would not be surprised if they change it to 'techa' or something like that when it comes out on video/DVD (or is it already?)
Something's in the air. The news stories lately give that feeling like you get just before a big storm moves in: something ain't right, but you just can't quite put your finger on it. Then it's upon you. Of course that feeling could be sheer manipulation, by either the media, Al Qaeda, or the U.S. government. Perhaps I'm like the Pavlovian dog, being primed for war. I don't like that notion. That's the problem with knowledge. Knowing more facts doesn't tell you what's going to happen with much more certainty than ignorance, especially with a problem so insidious and global.

Saudis again, eh? Surprise surprise. I hope this one is taken seriously by people. Never forget the Achille Lauro. Cruise ships are easy targets, simply by their nature. My parents were on the A.L. on the cruise just BEFORE the hijacked one. It was very sobering to them to realize how lucky they had been.
Hi Chris!

Even your post shows a bit of misunderstanding of what we are dealing with...
Saudi Arabia isnt the problem.
The leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen...all of them have "leaders" friendly with us but all of their people are against us.
The people of Egypt...the people of Yemen...Jordan....all of them.
Futhermore Arabs consider all of the Muslim Middle East to be one Muslim nation.
Taking a second look at Saudi is only part of the problem...it is the entire Middle East.
All of them.

Making Mecca, et al, "glow in the dark" would play into the hands of AlQeada. They want the current ruling regimes to be destroyed.
I am not sure why you want to use my tax dollars to do the heavy lifting for AlQeada. Do you work for them or something?

I did not call Mr. Savage. His program is not broadcast where I live in Montana. But I have heard his program and I agree with most things he says.

Nuking Mecca would make me as happy as the arabs in the Middle East were after 9/11/2001. CNN is correct. The world is at war with Islam. It is time as Lou Dobbs says we recognize the enemy Islam. A religon that wants to either convert everyone or kill everyone. No Afghanistan rule for me. If we nuke Mecca there is nothing left for islam.

Israel will take care of them. It's written in the scriptures.

How do you know the Arabs in the Middle East were happy after the 9/11 bombing? There are an awful lot of them and their societies generally frown on opinion surveys, so we know no one asked them.
Then there's the issue of Moslems elsewhere. Africa is full of them. Southeast Asia is full of them. In fact, the world's largest Moslem country is there. The Turks are Moslem.
Wouldn't it be better to just get rid of the Arabs and not offend the religious sensibilities of all those other folks? Hmmmmm!?!?
The enemy in this case is a gang of Islamisists, not Islam, or people who are Moslem. Our other Moslem enemy is a secularist - Saddam Hussein.
It is tiring trying to get folks who have no trouble differentiating between Baptists and Democrats to apply the same subtle distinctions to folks in the Middle East and the Moslem world.
You can differentiate between Baptists and Democrats, right?

I don't see how dumping planeloads of phosphorescent sea creatures on Islamic capitals will help the situation.

If we nuke Mecca there is nothing left for islam. I wonder whether nuking Mecca would harm Islam or add 1.1 billion to the ranks fanatics.
The temple in Jerusalem has been destroyed a few times in the last 5000 years, but the Jews are still around. If the Vatican were nuked, would it end Catholicism?

Wouldn't it be better to just get rid of the Arabs and not offend the religious sensibilities of all those other folks? Hmmmmm!?!? I've noticed this too. With the exception of a few others (the Persian Ayatollah and a few heavyweight Pashtuns) it is almost exclusively Arabs causing the problem. Not Turks, not Hashemites, not Beoduins(sp?), but the Arab majorities in S.A., Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Iraq, and the Arab minorities who stir up trouble in places like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, the U.K., France, here in the U.S....

Good points, but the "nuke Mecca" crowd doesn't care. They keep making the same posts every day for nine months now.

I read on lucianne.com that the wives of two of the Saudi men have also been arrested for being part of the plot.

I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you! So am I. I'm shocked that Reuters actually used the word "terrorist" in one of its articles.

I have just hear the Security Chief of the Cebta (Spanish enclave in Morocco) taking on Radio Nacional de España. He was forced by the anchor (the guy did not want to criticize his neighbors) to acknowledge that he did not buy the story. That he thought it was full of wind
Morocco, a country that -it is true- works against Islamism, wants the USA to notice that it is important. And that there are two Spanish cities in front of Gibraltar
