This was noted on another thread, but I though it deserved its own.

Padilla (I call him Jose Pendejo) was 24 in 1995. The guy in the drawing looks to be in his mid-30s. Does Pendejo have an older brother?

U.S. authorities said June 10, 2002 that they had captured
a suspected American al Qaeda operative carrying out reconnaissance for an
attack on the United States with a radioactive 'dirty bomb.' Abdullah al
Muhajir, born in New York as Jose Padilla, was detained by the FBI in Chicago on
May 8, when he arrived from Pakistan. Al Muhajir is seen in this undated Florida
driver's license photo. Photo by Reuters (Handout)

No way. The guy in the sketch looks about six years younger than the guy in the photo.

Hmmm.. Maybe you got something there.

Good eye Tanker!

Just curious....where was Jose in the summer of 95? I know he spent time in jail, but was he out and about during this time period? Then the next question, is the FBI willing to think about the possibility that McVeigh acted with Bin Laden henchmen during this period? Maybe McVeigh was simply a big nut who never realized who Ossama really was and what kind of threat he was to America.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I recall that the Clinton FBI said the OKC bombing was a right wing malitia attack on America and there is no connection to middle eastern (Muslim) terrorist. One has to admit, this guy is a dead ringer to the OKC John Doe. What say John Ashcroft now? Call me cynical, but I'd say the FBI will never admit that anyone other than Mcvey and Nickles were the culprets.

In another thread, someone found that he had been released from jail in 1993, and had several speeding tickets afterwards, leading to a suspension of his license in 1996.

So, he was out on the street in 1995.

Now, the chances of any connection are pretty remote, but I have to say, the resemblance is uncanny.

The photo is a copy of the driver's license photo belonging to Gary A. Land, who is being sought by the FBI as a possible witness to the bombing of the Federal building in Oklahoma City. Land, whose last known address was Kingman, Ariz., was driving a 1981 white Ford Thunderbird with an Arizona license plate.

I guess we can find all sorts of resemblances.

I don' see the resemblance. I believe that the mid eastern man detained in N.J. last winter....his name was Assmath (sp), was a dead ringer for JD#2. Eye witnesses noted that JD was ME. Okla people would know Hispanic from ME. Wish I could find that thread where the comparison was made to Assmath.

I don't see it. In fact, the more I look at them, the more dissimilar they look. Noses are different, chins are differnent.

The other proposed match (from that thread last year) is a caucasian. How'd that happen? Also, one of the other sketches of the suspect is more obviously caucasian than the crude line drawing would indicate.

Yeah, but this guy apprently identifies with ME types. Same as a person who spends time with any ethinic group eventually adopts their mannerisms. I think the resemblence is chilling. I want to know here he was in '95.

I can't find a single resemblance between Land and the composite--except they both appear to be makes. Land has a remarkably displaced nose, and a pronounced chin. Looks like his long hair is covering what we used to call "Dumbo" ears.

The eyes are wrong.Padilla's slant upward to the outside, like cat's. Not something I think would go unnoticed by someone describing John Doe #2 to a sketch artist.

I recall seeing an FR thread with a comparison of one of the 9/11 hijackers or post 9/11 suspects that was a better match to JD2 than Padilla.

Keep in mind, Padilla converted to Islam in 1993 and the OKC bombing was in 1995. With the planning time necessary, how likely is it that Al Qaeda would entrust a newbie with the one largest terrorist bombings ever attempted to that point?

Jose Pendejo Cabron: an American latino turned terrorist.

I would never have believed that a latin american male would turn against the USA.

I think it is a very good match between Padilla and OKC John Doe#2, almost as good as John Doe#1 and McVeigh.
