Actually a lot of the religious right stayed home (forget the number) and 17% who declared they were conservative voted for Gore.
-------

The number is 4 million according to Rove. I don't know where he is getting it except that this time 14% of the voters claimed to be of the religious right which equates to approximately 15 million. Rove says there should be 19 million.. where he gets his number I don't know. Thus the 19 - 15 = 4 million.. that's about all I know of it.....

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - To the dismay of its allies, the United States on Wednesday threatened to withdraw from U.N. peacekeeping missions if its troops were not exempted from the reach of a new global criminal court.

Incrementalism works both ways...

Excellent point.
But the encouraging part is that we have a Republican in the White House who is smart enough to realize it. And the all-or-nothing-RIGHT-NOW! idiots who keep showing up on various threads to "bash Bush" for "betraying conservatives" are looking sillier all the time.

Regards,
LH

...17% who declared they were conservative voted for Gore.

That "17%" were liars, so naturally they voted for Gore.

I think Rove is confused in this statement here... the exit polling I've seen says 14% list themselves as religious right and of that group 79% voted for Bush and 19% voted for Gore. About 105 million voters @ 14% = 14.7 million

I think he is talking about the folks that stayed home and didn't vote. I remember that was estimated to be about 4 million. You know -- the people that didn't go to the polls, but complain and say they won't vote for Pres Bush in 2004!

And since Bush is no different than Gore, I suppose the Bush-bashing bots will be on here saying this is no big deal, because, after all, Gore would have done the same thing, right?
