Conservative does not equate with republican. From the opening bell, Bush has been running for re-election. To my mind the country should have been first, however he has chosen to put himself above that by enlarging on, or bringing about more socialism. If one seperates the the domestic policy from the foreign, Bush has been an utter failure to a conservative. Therefore in the next election we will have no choice, republican socialism or democratic socialism, take it or leave it.

Why not just admit it? Even though controlling the executive and one branch of congress and barely outnumbered in the other, the R's are doing a very poor job of advancing a conservative agenda.
How about the story of GW cutting a deal with the Dems, to let the pardon crimes of Bubba go unpunished, or uncommented upon? Go team, we will win by surrendering.

I could not believe myself that, on our side are so many narrow minded, dead brain stiffs, to be honest with you. I am, to put it mildly, extremely dissapointed.
Now, it dawns on me why the liberals are calling us "wing nuts"...I think they have a point, ...hard to defend, all of this considered!
Granted the Islamic fundamentalists are going to kill some Americans and make us generally miserable. But in the big picture, we are going to eventually do whatever it takes to end their threat. Jihad is not going to end America or our freedoms. Socialism will; and soon. Sometime within the next two decades the United States will be economically and financially bankrupt thanks to socialism. Our government will collapse and we will fragment into many smaller nation states, republics and God knows what else.
We should focus on defeating the Democratic Party. It is the source of evil in the world that is most likely to do us in. When the US falls, is there anybody on this site that believes it will be the Jihad of Islamic Fundamentalism that will bring us down. Mr. Bush is satisfactorily dealing with the War on Terrorism. I suggest we applaud and let him continue getting on with it. But his approach to the domestic agenda is a loser and he needs all the help and attention we can muster. We need to get the attention of the Republican leadership. They need to understand our views. And they need to learn that we mean business. As long as they listen to the pied pipers in the media, they are leading the party down the primrose path. And our country continues unabated on the road to tyranny and decline.
Really, What happened in 1992 when the RATS owned everything? We won congress by a landslide and effectively changed the course of American History (for a while at least). Sometimes, it's better to stand up for what you believe. The problems the Republicans face is they are becoming like the RATS in the 70s and 80s. Say/Do anything to keep your seat. Often times it's better to stand on principal (even if you lose a battle, you will win the war). However, if you bend like silly putty you'll be molded into something you never intended and hence you'll lose the war. Although you'll never see it because you've been molded by the opposition to believe what they believe.
