"Male escorts never turn down hard, cold cash."
It would be so sad to find out that sleazy things were going on in that family. I hope it isn't true.
So much evil in this world and the innocents suffer.

I want someone to answer the question of :
Why does Tom have authority to say "No" to the noted sketch artist, that Lois and Ed "begged" to come do it??????????

"Saw this too. But, don't forget it's all Klaas' fault according to some!"
There are a lot of people who don't like Klaas. They feel that he is a grand stander.
I can forgive him for being so zealous. His child was murdered!!

Oh, just a little bit. Never in public, never for money. That post was actually made in the wee hours of 6-11 eastern time, but it referred to 11:43 pm Salt Lake time.
Since that night I have not seen or heard any more about Elizabeth than any of you. Isn't this NE story AWFUL? I am sure they will sue NE to death if this is not substantially accurate, which is hard to credit.

I like how Klaas and Geraldo were calling the tabloid reporters bottomfeeders, etc., but they ended the program by saying that the FBI has to look into "lifestyle issues". If Ed Smart and his brothers are leading a double life and interacting with underworld characters, they are opening up their families to dangerous repercussions. The authorities must, of course, follow these leads. The journal is already in their possession; they must know who authored it. This lead must be followed, wherever it takes the Smarts and their associates.

I haven't had a chance to read it - just heard rumors about the family involvement.

Geraldo has no room to talk - after covering for Clinton during all the scandal. His own life is no model either!!
Guess a lot of folks will overlook deparavity when it suits them.

Is there a link or something to the NE story? I've read this entire thread and can't figure out what everyone is talking about. Something about a secret sex diary or something... What kind of "alternative lifestyle" is it? (Freepmail if necessary. I don't want to bring unnecessary attention to something that's probably not be true.)
Going to bed now, but would appreciate info or a link for tomorrow. Thanks!

Don't you just love it when Geraldo gets all "holier-than-thou"? All four of his marriages broke up due to his adultery. However, he has covered all the major criminal cases, and is good at drawing out crucial information from his interviewees. Not like that dipstick Larry King.
To: LADY J
Geraldo is in my opinion a TV whore...... puts his sails always to the most optimal winds. But I think, since Sep.11th his compass went totally wrong!!!!He lost his show, now, he want's to come back somehow. Remember when he ducked a shot in Afghanistan, almost was hit by gunfire??? It was staged!!!!- But all this is my feeling about this. When I saw him tonight, I switched to another chanel, because I think he cannot bring thomething importand to this case!

For sure - Geraldo is no paragon of virtue!! He's a street fighter - and that's why he has no mercy when it comes to digging up the dirt!!
Larry King has a shoddy past also...maybe afraid someone will turn on him and remind the viewers of his escapades in Miami...He sticks to the 'soft ball' interviews. *S*

Remember Tom's appearance on LK with Nancy Grace and his repeated use of "issues"? ..."I have issues" and "there are issues" and "we all have issues" he said, over and over and over. I was so baffled then by his cryptic remarks, but now it's falling into place.
To: janette
Agree with you about Geraldo. He's always looking for dramatic coverage to try to outdo the other guys. I did listen to it tonight to hear what the others were saying about this case.

Klaas: He is--I understand-- very bitter! He must think, that his experience is helpful for all other cases. But he can't feel, that every case is different. I'm not very sure, he is looking for attention, he might be still involved in his own heeling process and that's where we feel, he is looking for too much media attention. He realy seemes to me very much "blocked" and caught in his own misery!

Yes, indeed. i wonder how many times the FBI have viewed that tape. I love it when he says "I don't know who has done what to my brothers".
And how about Grandpa Smart? He stands in the background, but never says a word.
Do you know which house the journal was found in -- Tom's, Ed's, or Dave's?
Sadomasochism...etc. I sure hope it wasn't Elizabeth's journal. Or one of the wives.

Re: Klaas - "He realy seemes to me very much "blocked" and caught in his own misery!"
I'm sure he has misery - as any parent of a dead child would. Thinking maybe he could of - should of - or in some way save his little one. He seems to be on a mission.
He may feel some guilt or even wonder why not hurry to try anything to find the people responsible.
It's bad enough when a child dies - but with his little girl - and with Danielle - thinking about HOW these children died and what they suffered before they died could drive a person crazy!!!

I realy can't try to compare Geraldo and Larry! We all know, why LK is so powerful since such a long time. He covers in his show all sensitive themes (tv-rations), but his guests covers all contrair oppinions! He never is put into a situation, where he has to have an opinion! For me as a German it's very strange....., I'm always waiting for the moment, where he is telling his audience his! oppinion. Maybe I'll be waiting forever. But that's the secret of his success!

I'm absolutely sure, you are right! All of this is so sad, that I feel almost guilty to write notes on a message board. But I calm myself down, by telling myself, that's my outlet to treat my concern about little E. Smart. I pray in my German way.... I never go into a church building, but I'm very close to my Believe!

absolutely, we can't even put it into words, what those parents are going threw. I hate, when people judge Elizabeth's Father the way he has to cry, or the way he has not to cry ----or to avoid emotions ---- suffering and all human expresions. Who ever told us, how to show emotion, when something horrible happens to us. Do we know, how we react?????!!!!!
